Job Title: Banquet - Food & Beverage Attendant
Position Summary
Provide courteous and efficient Food and Beverage service at functions
organised at the Hotel.
Organisational Relationship
1. Reports to the Banquet headwaiter, supervisor, Assistant Banquets Manager
and Banquets Manager.
2. No supervisory responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. General
• Adheres to the hotel procedures for security and fire.
•
Establishes and maintains a harmonious working relationship with clients and
hotel employees alike.
•
Consistently maintains a high level of professional appearance.
•
Is aware of and adheres to all house rules and Hotel policies.
2. Occupational Health and Safety
•
Taking reasonable care to perform duties as instructed, and to prevent
injuries to self and others.
•
Report any safety maintenance of equipment.
•
Identify and report hazards.
•
Follow the hotel Policies and Procedures in relation to OH&S and Injury
Management.
3. Operational
• Is punctual efficient and courteous at all times with guests and fellow
employees alike.
•
Is aware of the work schedule and always gives adequate notice when
circumstances prevent from adhering to that.
•
Attends training programs as requested
•
Is familiar with and observes and enforces all house rules and hotel policies
as set out in the staff handbook.
•
Takes extreme care with personal grooming in order to maintain a
consistently high level of professional appearance.
•
Provides consistently friendly and efficient service at all times, anticipating
guests needs and requests.
•
Sets table according to the instructions from the headwaiter or Supervisor.
•
Is familiar with the menu and wines being served.
•
Is aware of all functions and activities in the Hotel during the shift.
•
Attends to guest complaints and requests promptly and refers them to the
immediate Supervisor.
•
Ensures that cutlery, crockery and silverware at the tables are spotless.
•
Ensures that butters, milks, sugars and other requirements are set ready on
the station or table before the commencement of the function.
•
Clears plates and ashtrays promptly to ensure proper service flow.
•
Replenishes water, coffee, tea, condiments and other items required to tables
and stations.
•
Serves food and beverage according to Banquet Service standards for the
specific function.
•
Maintains cleanliness of function equipment, service stations and banquet
benches and surfaces.
•
Handles equipment with care to avoid accidents, breakage’s and damage.
•
Collects requisitioned food and beverage items from the store rooms and
checks accuracy of the order quantities and expiry dates.
•
Collects linen after completing the Linen Requisition and adheres to the
Laundry Departments schedules.
•
Performs any other duties as requested by the Banquet Manager, Senior
Banquet headwaiter, headwaiter and Supervisor.
Job Specifications
1. Education

High School Certificate Year 12
2. Skills Required

Excellent communication skills in reading and writing English
Experience in Hotel environment
