The children can bring their costumes / wigs into school from today onwards. Please label clearly and if possible put on a hanger so we can hang on a rail. On Thursday, the children can come into school from 8:30am onwards to get into their costumes. You are welcome to come in and help them to dress if you want. The girls will be in the junior library and the boys will unfortunately be asked to change in the boys’ toilets! Anyone who wants to wear eye-liner or eye shadow on the day can – we have discussed in class how boys and girls wore make up in Ancient Egypt! From 9:00am onwards, the DVD of the children presenting their Egyptian News, will be playing in the hall and you are welcome to go in the hall and watch it – please try to make time as it is very good and there is some very obvious talent in that area! The assembly will start at 9:15am and should last about 20 minutes. Afterwards, your child will take you into the Year 5 classroom and hopefully show you some of their art work connected with this topic. The children will be repeating their assembly later in the morning for the children in other classes. After the performances, they will need to change back into school uniform so please ensure they have this with them. Thank-you for your support with the costumes; I know it takes time and effort but I am sure these assemblies are very special to the children and they remember them as they move on to secondary school. I would also like to thank-you for your help with the homework of mummifying fruit at home. I hope you enjoy our assembly and the news reports from Egypt. Thank-you once again, Mrs Woodward Headteacher: Mrs A G Finney, B.Ed. Hons.,NPQH
