CitectSCADA Certified Engineer (CSCE) The Certified Engineer Program (CEP) distinguishes and recognizes engineers skilled in the integration of Schneider Electric’s™ CitectSCADA™ based automation projects. At the heart of the CEP are the CitectSCADA Certified Engineer (CSCE) exams, which provide a means of testing experienced system engineers. They encompass tests on CitectSCADA knowledge as well as a range of related topics such as PLC communications, Microsoft® Windows operating systems and networking. Frequently Asked Questions What is a CitectSCADA Certified Engineer? CitectSCADA Certified Engineer (CSCE) status is awarded to engineers who pass five exams designed to test their technical knowledge. What are the CSCE exams? The CSCE examinations consist of five separate exams that must be completed to attain the CSCE certification: 1. Configuration 2. Cicode™ 3. Architecture & Redundancy 4. Customization & Design 5. Diagnostics & Troubleshooting Each exam consists of 30 to 60 multiple-choice questions, depending on which exam is being taken. The exams each have a 1 to 1 ½ hour time limit, depending on the number of questions. The questions for all exams are randomly generated from a database of hundreds of questions. The pass mark is set at 70% for all exams. The exam is limited open-book. The reference material that may be used consists of the latest CitectSCADA version, Knowledge Base and the Online Help. NOTE: Paper is provided by the examination center and collected afterwards. No communication is permitted during the exam. All CSCE exam sittings must be supervised by an examination supervisor and follow the Educational Services examination guidelines. Who can take the CSCE Exams? CSCE exams are available to all customers. The exams and CSCE administration are web-based and results are displayed immediately. The formal CSCE certificate will be mailed within four to six weeks to successful candidates. Where can I take the CSCE exams? To ensure their integrity, the exams are conducted at a Schneider Electric educational center. Under special conditions, we do allow the exams to be conducted at other facilities. How much do the CSCE exams cost? A CSCE exam voucher is included in all course manuals, entitling the student to one exam free-of-charge. Candidates wishing to sit an exam without a voucher should contact their Schneider Electric country representative for further information. How difficult are the CSCE exams? The exams are designed around the content of the CitectSCADA curriculum. Completion of the related courseware will provide adequate knowledge for exam preparation. Additionally, experience in design, configuration, and maintenance of multiple CitectSCADA projects is recommended. How do I maintain my CSCE status? To maintain CSCE status, engineers have to sit an Upgrade exam when a new version of the software is released. The Upgrade exam covers new CitectSCADA features, new products and methods. Are there any sample questions or study guides? The CSCE exams follow the Educational Services CitectSCADA training courses, providing students a clear and efficient study path to follow in their exam preparation. Study guides are available for the current exam version. While they cover the structure and content of the courses, they act more as a refresher for the materials contained in each of the five courses. Learning progression The CitectSCADA Configuration course is a prerequisite for the Cicode Programming, Architecture & Redundancy, Customization & Design and Diagnostics & Troubleshooting courses. CSCP Prerequisites The CitectSCADA Certified Professional (CSCP) exam is an introductory qualification which can be achieved as the first stage of the Certified Engineer Program. It is essential that students are familiar with Microsoft Windows operating systems. Experience in PLC control system design and/or programming is desirable but not essential. The CSCP qualification has been designed for : > Engineering staff > Maintenance staff > Plant supervisors > Technical users > Managers > Operational staff > CitectSCADA system integrators and designers Certification The CitectSCADA Configuration course will help prepare students for the CitectSCADA Certified Professional (CSCP) Configuration exam which is also the first of the five exams needed for CSCE certification. This qualification will be presented to candidates who pass the current version of the CitectSCADA Configuration exam. CitectSCADA Certified Engineer (CSCE) Version 7.20 It is recommended that you attend the CitectSCADA Configuration training course first before attempting the exam. On completion of the course, you will receive a “Completed” certificate. On a successful pass of the Configuration exam or of the five CitectSCADA exams, you will receive a “Passed” certificate.
