HOW NICE IS YOUR OFFICE BUILDING RESTROOM? Kimberly-Clark Professional Launches Best Office Building Bathroom Contest; Winner to Receive Desktop Flat Panel TV, While Building Gets Free Toilet Paper ROSWELL, Ga. (February 3, 2003) – Is your office building bathroom a special spot? An attractive or cozy place that helps you get away from it all, if only for a short time? If so, you could be the winner of The Best Office Building Bathroom Contest sponsored by Kimberly-Clark Professional. The first-place winner will receive a 15-inch LCD flat panel “desktop” TV. Second and third place winners will each receive a Bose Wave radio/CD player. The winning office buildings will receive a supply of toilet paper, towels and facial tissue. “The average office building worker spends the equivalent of more than three workdays a year in the restroom, so the importance of an attractive restroom cannot be underestimated,” said Amy Walker Barrs, office building marketing manager for Kimberly-Clark Professional. “This contest gives us the opportunity to honor the office buildings that go that extra mile to make the restrooms a special place for the people who work in these buildings.” Walker Barrs added that property managers frequently spend more money on the lobby and other areas of a building in an effort to impress their tenants, but often overlook the restroom – the source of two out of three tenant complaints. “In survey after survey, office workers have told us that they want a clean restroom more than anything else,” she said. “In one survey, nearly three quarters of respondents said it was extremely important for them to find a clean restroom at work or at another place away from home. In others we found that poorly maintained restrooms led to a negative impression of a facility as a whole. A vast majority of the restroom complaints can be resolved easily and inexpensively by using high capacity tissue and towel systems that reduce runouts.” The surveys were conducted by Opinion Research Corporation on behalf of Kimberly-Clark Professional. Entries for the Best Office Building Bathroom Contest are due April 30, 2003.
