The Crystal Egg Award provides a fantastic opportunity to promote egg marketing excellence and share best practice ideas within our international industry. It is your opportunity to promote your sales and communication methods and demonstrate your success to other IEC members. Entrants for the Crystal Egg Award must provide a 10 minute visual presentation. The award judges will give marks out of 10 for each of the 6 elements listed below, 0 being the minimum and 10 being the maximum. The entrant with the highest overall score will be the winner. Presentation Guidelines Presentations for the Crystal Egg Award should provide the following information: 1. Product – Assortment, Availability & Quality Please give details about the product/s your business sells. Include information about the variety of products you offer, the availability of these products to customers and/or consumers, and the quality control programmes you have in place. 2. Promotion of product/business Give examples of how your business promotes its product offering. 3. Investment Detail recent investments you have made in your business; these could be in any areas including production, distribution, marketing, CSR initiatives, personnel. 4. Product sales/business revenue Please provide figures, showing how your sales & marketing initiatives have provided a return on investment, increased your product sales or business revenue. 5. Innovation/initiatives Outline any new business initiatives your company has introduced. These innovations may be in any area of your business, including product design, packaging, distribution, promotion, CSR initiatives, personnel. Entries will be judged on a composite set of criteria set out below, and must comply with the conditions of entry. Signature: Date: The Crystal Egg Award: For Excellence in International Marketing Competition Rules & Criteria 1. All competition entrants must be fully paid up company members of the International Egg Commission for that competition year. 2. Entries will only be accepted if they are submitted by the end of August, prior to the Annual Marketing and Production conference in September. 3. Entries will be accepted by mail, fax and email. Competing companies should mount a display of their marketing and promotional techniques at the conference. Each IEC company entering the Crystal Egg Award is entitled to a FREE display table which will be located adjacent to the main conference hall. This will be available to set up from 7.00 am on the first Monday of the conference and must be dismantled by the evening of the closing Thursday. Please confirm to the IEC office that you will be using your display table. 5. Competing companies MUST provide a 10 minute visual presentation (DVD, PowerPoint etc) at the Showcase for Marketing Eggscellence on the Tuesday of the conference, detailing the company’s successful sales and marketing communication techniques. Audio-visual equipment will be available. 6. Entrants commit not to exceed the given time limit and accept that their presentation will be stopped by the presiding Chairman in the event of exceeding this limit. 7. Award Criteria Presentations will be judged on the following criteria, scoring between 0 (minimum) and 10 (maximum) points per category: a. Product – Assortment, Availability & Quality b. Promotion of product / business c. Investment d. Product sales / business revenue e. Innovation / initiatives Timing: a. Presentations will only be judged on the first 10 minutes. Any information presented after the allocated time will not be taken into consideration by the judges. Presentations which continue beyond the allocated time may be stopped by the Chairman. 8. Judging Panel The awards will be judged by a panel nominated by the Chair and Deputy Chairs of the Marketing Committee, and will consist of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 5 judges which may include: Honorary President of the IEC Chair of the IEC Chair of the IEC Marketing Committee Deputy Chairs of the IEC Marketing Committee Speakers on Marketing Issues at the IEC Conference Members of the judging panel may not take part in the award competition 9. In the event that the Entrant is the winner of the competition, the Entrant undertakes to provide a short article to the IEC by the end of April in the following year to be used by the IEC for publicising the awards. 10. The decision of the Judges is final.
