from POSSIBILITY to REALITY
Dear Friends,
The year 2007 will long be remembered as a year when a vast vision became reality.
Together, we worked to create Atrium Medical Center, our new 21st century hospital,
with expanded medical and surgical capabilities and dramatically enhanced amenities
for patient comfort and care. And we “partnered with the best” to open the Ann and
Arthur Bidwell Surgery Center, the Behavioral Health Pavilion and the Dayton Children’s
Specialty Care Center – Warren County.
3
Later this year, Premier Health Campus – Middletown will welcome the Atrium Family
YMCA and Avalon by Otterbein at Atrium, a skilled nursing community. In 2009,
Greentree Health Science Academy will open its doors to high school and college students
seeking hands-on training in high-demand health careers.
What you see in this annual report is just a small representation of the many possibilities
that became reality in 2007—through your giving and the contributions of others to
Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Atrium Medical Center.
As you turn these pages, let your mind play with the question “What if?” What if the
dreamers hadn’t dreamed of a better healthcare reality for their loved ones and neighbors?
What if our generous supporters hadn’t caught the vision of state-of-the-future care? I
assure you, none of these realities—these significant improvements to care—could have
happened on their own.
Finally, I encourage you to consider the best “what if ”: What if we continue this
momentum in the months and years to come? What can happen in our communities if
we keep dreaming ... and giving … and creating new and better solutions to the healthcare
challenges we and future generations will face?
Let’s keep working together toward a healthier tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Douglas W. McNeill, FACHE

What stands between a possibility and a reality? Energy. Creativity. Determination. And yes, dollars.
These are the catalysts that transform what can be into what is.
At Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation, 2007 was a year when these four catalysts came together in
powerful ways—and made things happen for our communities.
We saw the energy of hospital leadership, staff and volunteers who worked as a team to open Atrium
Medical Center, turning a seven-year dream into a lifesaving reality for southwest Ohio families.
We marveled at the creativity of those who invested countless hours in making Mid-Miami
Healthcare Foundation’s All that Glitters gala a night to remember and a successful fundraiser for
our new Heart Center.
We watched the determination of Foundation leaders and grassroots community members
who would not rest until the message of the need for advanced heart services resounded throughout
the region.
And we were grateful as nearly 1,200 generous donors stepped forward to contribute more than $5
million to the Advancing Care for a Healthier Community capital campaign—many with first-time
major gifts to the Foundation. In April 2008, we announced that we exceeded our campaign goal of
$4.5 million, just before the new Heart Center welcomed its first patients and families in June.
You—the people of this region who gave energy, creativity, determination and yes, dollars to
make a difference—were the catalyst that turned possibilities into realities. And we at Mid-Miami
Healthcare Foundation want to thank you.
We also assure you that every gift to Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation goes to work right here in
your local region, building a healthier community for your family, friends and employees. Every gift
is used for its designated intent.
Numerous possibilities are still before us. Thank you for your continued support as we work to
make them realities.
Gratefully yours,
Linda C. Baxter

Reality: LIFESAVING CARDIAC CARE
Four generations of the Roehll family.
WALTER AND MARY LOU ROEHLL
6
“We’ve always been a close family, and the hospital has been part of the family.”
Supporting state-of-the-art cardiac care has always been a
family affair for Walter H. Roehll, Jr., MD, medical director
of cardiology services, and his wife, Mary Lou.
Since 1962, when he joined the Middletown Regional
Hospital medical staff, Dr. Roehll has led the charge
for enhanced cardiac services—championing the use
of defibrillators when few hospitals had them, helping
to create one of the nation’s first Coronary Care Units
in a community hospital, pioneering the use of cardiac
rehabilitation after a heart attack, and assisting in
creating many new services, such as nuclear cardiology,
a heart failure center, and now, open-heart surgery and
interventional cardiology.
With a vision ahead of him and his family squarely
behind him, Dr. Roehll provided critical leadership for
the Advancing Care for a Healthier Community capital
campaign. “We’ve always been a close family,” remarked
Mary Lou, “and the hospital has been part of the family.”
great-grandchildren, but also in memory of Dr. Roehll’s
parents, Catherine and Walter Roehll, MD.
“My dad practiced internal medicine at Middletown
Regional Hospital from 1923 to 1967,” Dr. Roehll reflected.
“He was a wonderful, compassionate doctor.”
“Every day, patients at the hospital had a race to see
who could put a flower in his lapel,” recalled Mary Lou.
“Patients just loved him.”
In December, the Roehll family gathered to dedicate the
Mary Lou & Walter H. Roehll, Jr., MD, Cardiac Family
Room—a warm, welcoming space within the Heart Center.
“Families suffering from the impact of heart disease are
anxious about their loved ones,” said Dr. Roehll. “I’m
glad our family could help provide a place with a patientfriendly, healing environment, where loved ones can be
together, talk together, and provide support that can help
a family member heal.”
In honor of their loving family, the Roehlls made a
significant gift for the new Heart Center at Atrium
Medical Center. The contribution is in recognition of their
children—Debi, Lori, John and Geoff—grandchildren and

STEVEN L. HIGHTOWER, HIGHTOWERS PETROLEUM CO.
“Find out what successful people do, and do that.”
Role models are important to Steve Hightower. His life and
career were shaped by positive role models who instilled
in him a solid work ethic, a penchant for innovation and
a desire to “give back.” “Find out what successful people do,
and do that,” is his motto.
Now in their 70s, Yudell and Elsie continue to serve the
community. “My father spends a lot of time visiting and
encouraging people at the hospital and in homes. He has
a good heart. He’s one of a kind, without a bad word to say
about anyone.”
“I’m convinced that role modeling is the strategy by
which we pass on hope and legacies,” explained Hightower,
president and CEO of Franklin-based Hightowers
Petroleum, a nationwide distributor of petroleum products.
Hightower points to Doug McNeill, Atrium Medical Center
president and CEO, as the third inspiration for the gift.
“I like role models who inspire me to do more, and Doug
McNeill is that kind of individual. I’ve seen Doug inspire
the community to do and become more by transforming
Middletown Regional Hospital and its image, by successfully negotiating key partnerships, and by delivering to the
community a final product they can see, touch and take
pride in.”
It should come as no surprise, then, that three community
role models inspired Hightowers Petroleum’s contribution
to the Advancing Care for a Healthier Community capital
campaign. The company’s generous gift was made in honor
of Steve’s parents, Yudell and Elsie Hightower, founders of
the Hightower family business.
“My father worked 18- to 20-hour days at Armco Steel
while building his own business. The fact that we’re doing
new and innovative things today is because we began with
a strong base,” he says. Elsie worked alongside her husband,
managing the day-to-day financial operations.
Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation 2007 Annual Report
Hightower believes positive examples like these will
have a far-reaching impact on the region. “When people
see success being achieved by someone they know, they
recognize that success is possible and believe it can happen
to them, too.”

Mike Schneider, left, and David MacNeel, right, of Baker Concrete Construction
BAKER CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION
8
“We made a donation to this hospital as a gift to the local community.”
If the strength of a building lies in its foundation, then
Atrium Medical Center owes much to Baker Concrete
Construction. As a subcontractor on the Atrium
construction project, Baker handled all the concrete work—
from foundation to superstructure—for the new facility.
After touring Atrium Medical Center at the open house,
Schneider commented, “It’s a tremendous facility, not like
any hospital I’ve ever been in. Most hospitals are about
a very sterile environment, architecturally. Atrium is so
warm—so much more welcoming.”
But the company’s commitment to “foundation building”
didn’t stop there.
Schneider and his colleagues at Baker are equally enthused
about the hospital’s potential to fuel fresh economic
development in the region. “The partnerships Atrium has
created with various entities make it a magnet for the area,”
he said. “And as new people move into the area, the fact that
they don’t have to worry about medical services is a huge
plus. The Heart Center alone is a major capability Atrium
now offers that wasn’t here before.”
Last year Baker Concrete made a generous gift to help lay
a strong foundation for care at our new Heart Center—
a gift that sprang from a “history of helping people,”
according to Mike Schneider, Baker Concrete vice president.
“We made a donation to this hospital as a gift to the
local community—the community we’re a part of,”
Schneider explained.
Headquartered in Monroe, Ohio, Baker has its roots in
nearby Oxford, where founder Dan Baker and his two
brothers got their start laying patios and driveways. “Today
we’re one of the largest concrete specialty contractors in the
country,” said Schneider. “We do a lot of big projects—that’s
our forte. But Dan Baker still believes in giving back to the
local community in terms of our time, talent and treasure.”
Reflecting on Atrium’s construction, Schneider concluded,
“It was one of the best run projects we’ve ever been
associated with. We were fortunate to be a part of building
it, and we support it because it’s the right thing to do.”

JAMES M. COX FOUNDATION
AND THE MIDDLETOWN JOURNAL
“We’re supportive of projects that improve quality of life in our markets.”
Cardiac patients and their families will benefit from
stronger care at the new Heart Center, thanks to major
gifts from the James M. Cox Foundation of Atlanta and the
Middletown Journal, a Cox Ohio Publishing affiliate.
Established by Middletown-area native James Cox, threetime Ohio governor and founder of Cox Enterprises, a
major media company, “the James M. Cox Foundation
serves all of the communities where Cox properties are
located,” said Karla Garrett Harshaw, Cox Ohio’s vice
president of community development.
Ann Hoffman, former publisher of the Middletown
Journal and current publisher of a Cox newspaper in
North Carolina, learned about Atrium Medical Center
and its plans for advanced heart services during tours of
the new facility.
“Obviously, the entire Atrium complex is a very positive
thing for the community—not just for Middletown, but
for all of Butler and Warren counties,” she remarked.
“Cox has a philosophy of being very good stewards
in communities where we have newspapers and other

divisions. We’re supportive of projects that improve quality
of life in our markets—so obviously, supporting Atrium
Medical Center wasn’t a difficult choice for us.”
Karla Garrett Harshaw joined Hoffman in presenting
to Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation a $37,500 grant
from the James M. Cox Foundation and a pledge of
$12,500 from the Middletown Journal, saying, “The Heart
Center at Atrium Medical Center is a wonderful facility
with all the expertise needed for area families who are
coping with an acute heart incident. It will be a great asset
to the community.”

“We’re happy to be helping the hospital in our own special way.”
Volunteers are not only the unseen backbone of Atrium
Medical Center; together they also stand as the second
largest donor in Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation
history. “The Auxiliary has given more than $1.5 million
to the Foundation to date, including a $100,000 gift to
the Advancing Care for a Healthier Community capital
campaign,” said Jessica Woodard, Foundation development
coordinator. “It’s hard to imagine a day here without our
volunteers and their commitment to patients.”
More than 200 members strong, the Auxiliary raises funds
for hospital projects through flower, book and jewelry
sales—and through the Hilltop Gift Shop, a hospital
tradition for more than 50 years. Volunteers Darlene Abney
and Joyce Burnett manage the gift shop, which underwent
a total transformation with the move to Atrium Medical
Center. “We love it,” Abney said of the new shop with its
welcoming décor and larger square footage.
away and talk to someone. We’re here to listen.” Proceeds
from the shop, which last year exceeded $75,000, support
hospital services, technology and medical scholarships.
The Auxiliary’s generous gift to the Advancing Care
capital campaign was commemorated with the naming
of a large, second-floor reception area at Atrium Medical
Center. The Atrium Auxiliary Middletown Family Room is
a comfortable place for families waiting while their loved
ones have surgery or treatment. “We think it’s important
to give back to the community,” Burnett said on behalf of
fellow Auxilians. Abney added, “We’re happy to be helping
the hospital in our own special way.”
“We’re here to serve hospital employees, who work long
hours and appreciate the convenience of a gift shop, and
we’re here to serve the public,” explained Burnett. “Patients’
loved ones are under stress and they often need to get

Reality: EXPANDED SERVICE
FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN
Heather and Jim Spurlino
THE SPURLINO FAMILY FOUNDATION
“It’s easy to see the hospital doing well and think they don’t have any needs—but they do.”
Dayton residents Jim and Heather Spurlino have a big
heart for children. That’s why, when considering a gift to
Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation, they inquired about
needs at the hospital’s Maternal Child Health Center.
“Our family’s foundation has mostly concentrated on
organizations that are concerned about children’s wellbeing,” said Spurlino, president of Middletown-based
Spurlino Materials. On a tour of the Maternal Child Health
Center, the Spurlinos “saw firsthand some needs of the
center that may not be as high profile or headline-grabbing
as cardiac care, but were equally as urgent,” Jim recalled.
“We also met Dr. Greg Siewny; Janet Majors, director of
women’s services; and others who are clearly passionate
about their work, which is helping children and expectant
mothers who need medical services but can’t afford them.”
As the primary care provider for more than 12,000 women
and children, most of whom face financial circumstances
beyond their control, the Maternal Child Health Center
offers low-cost sick and well child visits, a prenatal/
gynecology clinic, free immunizations and more.
The Spurlino Family Foundation’s generous gift helped
replace outdated ultrasound equipment to provide more
accurate fetal growth/development screening, and it
purchased much-needed technology for vision testing and
asthma treatment. The funds also allowed the center, which
was formerly closed on Wednesdays for budgetary reasons,
to open on Wednesday afternoons.
“We’re here for anyone who’s fallen on rough times, and
with the economy as it’s been, we’re bursting at the seams,”
said Donna Parson, manager. Opening the center an extra
day helps ensure that sick children don’t have to wait for
care and that expectant women receive timely intervention
to improve pregnancy outcomes.
Reflecting on his family’s contribution, Spurlino remarked,
“It’s easy to drive past the hospital, see it doing well and
think they don’t have any needs—but they do. Thankfully,
the Foundation represents those needs well.”

Reality: HOPE FOR GRIEVING PARENTS
Brad and Kendra Klausing hold a photo of baby Aubrey.
THE HEAL GARDEN (HELP ENDURE A LOSS)
“It’s a visible, permanent reminder that our children were here and are not forgotten.”
Some gifts to Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation help
fund high-tech equipment to save lives. Other gifts help
save emotional lives, says Sheree Young, RN, director of
Atrium Medical Center’s unique HEAL Program.
The Children’s Medical Center of Dayton, Cincinnati
Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Children’s Medical
Center of Middletown and others have purchased benches
and plantings, and will endow the garden’s maintenance.
Through counseling and support, HEAL (Help Endure
A Loss) helps grieving families put the pieces of life back
together after the death of an infant or child. Caring HEAL
personnel also work to provide tangible ways to treasure
and remember the child.
Brad and Kendra Klausing of Springboro say you can’t
put a price tag on such a gift to area families. In 2006,
they lost their only child, 5-month-old Aubrey, to sudden
infant death syndrome (SIDS). Friends put the couple in
touch with Young, who came and made three-dimensional
molds of Aubrey’s tiny hands and feet to help preserve
her memory. The Klausings soon joined a HEAL support
group, which meets at Atrium Medical Center.
In 2007, Foundation donors helped establish a new
HEAL Garden at Premier Health Campus – Middletown.
Sponsored by the medical staff, the garden’s focal point is
an Angel of Hope statue inspired by the bestselling book
The Christmas Box. “In the book, a woman mourns the loss
of her child at the base of an angel monument,” explained
Young. “The angel statue has become a worldwide symbol
for bereaved loved ones who need a place to heal. We’re
honored and grateful to have one in Middletown.”
“We asked the Middletown Regional Hospital medical
staff if they’d be willing to fund the project as their last
official contribution as MRH physicians,” said Diana Small,
MD, chief of pediatrics, who championed the project
with Young. The response was overwhelming. Physicians
contributed $14,500 for the statue. Additional gifts from
“You can’t explain the power of being in a room where
everyone knows what you’re going through without your
having to say a word,” said Kendra. “We try to focus on all
the good times we had with Aubrey, but we still need that
emotional release.”
The Klausings believe the Angel of Hope will provide that
and more for grieving families. Said Kendra, “It’s a visible,
permanent reminder that our children were here and are
not forgotten.”

Reality: QUALITY CARE FOR
LOW-INCOME FAMILIES
BUTLER COUNTY COMMUNITY HEALTH CONSORTIUM
“We really appreciate the support we receive from the Foundation.”
A growing population of uninsured and underinsured
households is the primary focus of the Butler County
Community Health Consortium (BCCHC). With health
centers in Middletown and Hamilton, BCCHC provides
comprehensive primary care, preventive healthcare and
related social services to those without insurance or the
financial means to pay for the care they need.
“There is an increasing demand for our services,” said
Ashley Wladysh, BCCHC community relations specialist.
“With more than 40,000 on Medicaid and 30,000
uninsured in Butler County alone, we’re an important
part of the ‘safety net’ for this area.”
“In 2007 we served nearly 7,000 patients with more than
18,000 office visits, as compared to 4,000 patients and
11,000 visits in 2006,” said Wladysh. Without BCCHC, she
emphasized, these patients would go without care or turn
to the local emergency room, creating obvious drawbacks
for the community.
“Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation has been instrumental
to BCCHC in helping us meet these needs with quality and
compassion,” Wladysh concluded. “We really appreciate the
support we receive from the Foundation through its donors
in the community. We think they do a phenomenal job.”
This past year Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation
contributed $150,000 to help the Butler County
Community Health Consortium meet the rising demand
for high-quality, low-cost medical services. In addition to
funding prescription assistance for low-income families,
the grant enabled the consortium to add a new full-time
physician to serve the community’s most vulnerable.
Family practitioner Shazia Kahn, MD, now sees patients
at the BCCHC Middletown health center.

“A Work of Love for Our Community”
“It was an extraordinary evening—the most intimate event

U.S. Bank senior vice president and a guest at Mid-Miami
Healthcare Foundation’s 2007 All That Glitters Gala.
received the 2007 Community Hero Award. Beloved
pediatrician and former medical staff president
Ronald Oches, MD, was honored with the 2007 Physician
Hero Award.
“It was probably one of the most exciting nights
Middletown had seen in a long time,” said Sarah Kaup,
co-chair of the event with her husband, Gary. “It was a
work of love for our community.”
Thanks was given to major sponsors Skanska Shook,
Barnitz Fund-Chase, Flowers by Roger and many other
generous sponsors who assisted in underwriting the
evening’s expenses. The unforgettable event, which
concluded after dessert and dancing in the hospital,
raised $55,000 for the new Heart Center.
The picture-perfect night began just as the sun—as if
cued by event planners—cast its setting glow on the
gleaming windows of the new Atrium Medical Center. Gala
participants, who were among the community’s first inside
the completed facility, enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres
and perused the many items up for bid in a silent auction
before convening inside a large tent for dinner.
The after-dinner program paid tribute to three true
community heroes whose lifetime contributions to the
hospital and region were deemed exceptional. Former
hospital and health system board member Wilbur Cohen
and his wife, Mary Jean, a longtime hospital volunteer,
“Our teams did a great job in putting the gala together,”
remarked Doug McNeill, president and CEO of Atrium
Medical Center. “The event exceeded our expectations.”
“We had an incredible committee,” Kaup agreed. “Everyone
worked so well together and had fun together, even with all
the long hours, and I think it showed in the final product.”

WARREN COUNTY FOUNDATION
SUPPORTS ATRIUM
Enhancing the quality of life of Warren County residents is the
mission of the Warren County Foundation. “Warren County is a
wonderful place to live and work,” said Jim Bliss, the foundation’s
vice president of development, “but only because of the people
and organizations that are working hard to keep it that way and
to make it even better.”
Recognizing Atrium Medical Center as an organization that is
actively fulfilling that goal, both the Warren County Foundation
board of trustees and its grants committee voted unanimously
to make a generous grant toward the new Heart Center.
“We had a great feeling about the whole campus and what it
brings to the community—and the heart of it all is Atrium Medical
Center,” Bliss explained, adding, “It was such an excellent fit with
our mission of improving quality of life that we were happy to help.”

NURSING SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT RELIES ON
“HANDS, EYES AND HEART” — SUE FAULKNER, RN, BSN
After 32 years of nursing, Sue Faulkner, RN, BSN, still has
the desire to learn and grow, professionally and personally.
In December she completed her Bachelor of Science
in Nursing at Miami University through Atrium Medical
Center’s continuing education program.
Certified in oncology and medical surgical nursing,
“Sue is an informal leader among the oncology team at
The Compton Center,” according to one colleague who
nominated her for the award. “She practices not only the
science of nursing, but also the art.”
village with no diagnostic testing and limited medications,
Sue was amazed at how much care she could provide “with
just my hands, eyes and heart. We arrive with just our
stethoscopes, and that’s it,” she explained.
Whether working in El Salvador or at The Compton Center,
by listening, educating and building relationships, Sue
practices the healing art of nursing. “We [nurses] remind
people that someone cares—that they’re not forgotten.”
In November Faulkner received the 2007 Cameos in Caring
award for her significant contribution to quality patient
care. The award included a nursing scholarship made
possible by the Orr Foundation for Nursing Excellence,
established through a major bequest to Mid-Miami
Healthcare Foundation by sisters Nadine and Beryl Orr.
Faulkner used the funds to travel to El Salvador, her sixth
medical mission trip to that country. Serving in a mountain

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES
EASES FEAR OF EMERGENCIES
An emergency room can be
an intimidating place for a
child. But thanks to Ronald
McDonald House Charities
of Greater Cincinnati,
children visiting the Emergency Trauma Center (ETC)
at Atrium Medical Center
will have more reasons to
enjoy the experience than
to fear it.
A recent grant provided
funds to equip a cheerful
children’s play area
From left to right, Jim Kern, Atrium ETC; Ed Wernet,

McDonald’s; Jessica Woodard, Mid-Miami Healthcare
grant purchased a flatFoundation; Krista Beiser, Atrium ETC
screen TV with children’s
programming, two video game stations, interactive play cubes, colorful
ceiling murals, toy wagons and more.
“Ronald McDonald House Charities is all about children and their well-being—
finding ways we can make things better for them,” explained local McDonald’s
owner-operator Ed Wernet. Partnering with Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation
to create a place just for kids was “an easy call for us,” he said. “Parents
visiting the hospital are under stress, but if their child is happy and able to
burn off a little energy, it allows them to focus on getting the care they need.”

WAL-MART FOUNDATION
FUNDS VISION SCREENING
Jim A. Hollenbeck, center,
assistant manager of the
Lebanon Wal-Mart Super
Center, presents a check
from the Wal-Mart Foundation
to Robert Bedinghaus,
left, Mid-Miami Healthcare
Foundation board member,
while Mid-Miami Healthcare
Foundation’s Mike Stautberg
looks on. This generous
contribution supported the
acquisition of children’s vision
screening technology for the Maternal Child Health Center.
“Many children have eye problems that can lead to learning delays or loss of
vision if not detected and treated in time,” explained Jim Hollenbeck, assistant
manager. Designed for children as young as 6 months of age, the new equipment
will serve children who are developmentally delayed or too young to read an
eye chart. Said Hollenbeck, “Wal-Mart is pleased to help provide this important
healthcare service to our community.”

EMPLOYEES HAVE HEART
Through tours and training, Middletown Regional Hospital (MRH)/Atrium
Transition Guides played a valuable role in helping MRH employees
adapt to a new work environment at Atrium Medical Center. Through
their fundraising activities, they became a major donor to Mid-Miami
Healthcare Foundation.
Tasked with providing orientation at Atrium, the Transition Team also
worked to find ways for employees to remember MRH. In September they
hosted the MRH Farewell Celebration, which included a picnic, a final walk
around the hospital, games for children and a raffle. “Forty MRH departments donated awesome gift baskets for our raffle; the entire community
was involved,” said Julie Turner, education program coordinator.
The team also assembled a Recipes to Remember cookbook, still on sale
in the education department. Together, these projects raised more than
$5,000 for the Heart Center.
“So many people deserve credit for what we’ve accomplished,” Turner
said of her peers on the Transition Team. “A lot of time and effort was
donated to helping us in our move to Atrium. It’s a great group!”

From the onset of the
construction of Atrium Medical

“We pledged our support to
community organizations, local
subcontractors and vendors,”
said Stephen E. Risner, project
director. “We challenged our
subcontractor/vendor base to
help us build this project cost-efficiently and to meet the high quality
standards expected by the hospital and the community.”
To help finance the project, Skanska Shook organized two fundraiser golf
outings to benefit the Foundation. Together, the 2006 and 2007 golf
tournaments raised more than $20,000 for the Heart Center.
“The challenge we sent out to our subcontractors and vendors was
answered with enthusiasm and open pockets,” said Risner. “Skanska
Shook is very pleased to have been selected as the construction
management team for Atrium Medical Center and even more pleased
to have had the opportunity to work with the dedicated hospital
management team, the City of Middletown, loyal supporters and all the
subcontractors and vendors in making this a win-win for everyone.”
