Monocoque Service Design LLP
Shawn graduated from NUS FASS in 2012 with a Bachelors in Economics, and is currently co-running
Monocoque Service Design LLP. He plans and sets the direction the company is taking as Monocoque

portfolio and reputation, analyzing situations to scout out potential opportunities to set the company on
the path to success.
Prior to starting Monocoque, Shawn started off in the PR industry, learning the ropes as he went along.
Having short but fruitful internships at small PR firms, Shawn moved on to take on a hybrid role at a
media agency, covering new business and communications across the region.
Outside of work, Shawn enjoys a casual swim from time to time having left the days of competitive
swimming behind. He spends time catching up with his friends through a myriad of activities such as
café hopping, travelling, mahjong and building business ideas.

Tong Su Yee
Manager (Food Services, Industry and Enterprise Development)
SPRING Singapore
Su Yee graduated from NUS Sociology in 2013 with a Bachelor of Social Sciences (2nd Upper Hons) and
currently works in the Industry and Enterprise Development Group in F&B Services in SPRING Singapore.
On a day to day basis, she works with F&B companies in the Chinese and Catering subsectors on how to
improve their businesses as a whole be it through productivity initiatives or business development ideas.
In addition, she deals with manpower policy planning in the F&B sector and works in inter-agency efforts
with the likes of WDA and MOE to address the F&B industry's manpower issues.
Prior to graduating, she interned with The New Paper as a Journalist due to her interest in writing and
hopes of being a Food and Travel journalist (a long term dream at this point in time). After graduating,
she joined NTUC for two years as an Industrial Relations Officer as her first job. The two years as an IRO
were eventful as she was seconded to the Electronics union where she understood the HR practices of
15 companies (including MNCs like UTAC and SSMC) while getting involved with union member
engagement events. Working as a union representative (which is an easier term for an IRO) taught her
the importance of understanding wages of workers in the grander scheme of public policy; and it was
with this experience that she feels equips her to be effective in her role in manpower policy formulation
presently.
Before graduating, Su Yee was an active member of NUS Softball and Raffles Hall. She was involved in
Hall activities like softball, photography, orientation and musical production. In her free time presently,
she believes in self-improvement and has been actively studying outside of work to upskill beyond her
day to day job requirements.
