We seek a synthetic organometallic chemist to join our R&D team. This hands-on position carries responsibility for the design, syntheses, and characterization of organometallic compounds. The ideal candidate will demonstrate practical experience in relevant aspects of organometallic chemistry, especially structural characterization by solution NMR, and preferably, prior experience with main group and/or early transition metals. A self-starter and strong team player who enjoys scientific discovery with the ability to communicate and collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment is essential. Responsibilities • Design and execute synthetic strategies to prepare organometallic compounds for evaluation • Characterize resultant compounds by: solution NMR, GC, LC, TGA-MS, UV-Vis, IR, Raman, and X-ray crystallography • Contribute to design of libraries of target molecules • Prepare and communicate research results in oral and written format Important Qualifications • Ph.D. in chemistry, demonstrated experience with organometallic synthesis • Hands-on experience handling hazardous and air-sensitive materials, preferred Compensation and Benefits We offer competitive compensation and a benefits package that includes stock options, health insurance, paid vacation, and a companysponsored 401(k) plan.
