THEOLOGY ON TAP – Fri. Oct. 16 join Fr. Sean Kilcawley the
director of the Family Life Office in Lincoln. He will speak about
how the Pope of Mercy is trasforming his priesthood and can
transform your lives! The media often confuses the Pope’s
message, but when we listen attentively to his words they
replace confusion with clarity, isolation with community, and
loneliness with love. Come and hear how the message of Pope
Francis along with that of Pope Benedict and St. John Paul II
transformed his heart and can set you on a journey to joy.
Theology on Tap is held at Sehnert’s Bakery and Bieroc Cafe, 312
Norris Ave. Menu includes a Pizza Buffet with assorted pizza,
salad, garlic bread, iced tea, lemonade, soda, coffee and a variety
of cookies ~ $7.95 • Serving begins at 6:00 PM. Cash bar with
non-alcoholic drinks and beer, wine, etc. Anyone out of high
school and older is welcome.
PUMPKIN FESTIVAL – St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church
located at 3301 Echo Drive in North Platte is having their
Pumpkin Festival Sun. Oct 11th from 11AM to 3 PM. There will
be games, pony rides, silent auction, raffle, bake sale, food
booths…and pumpkins! Lots of family fun to be had!
IMMACULATE CONCEPTION FALL FESTIVAL – in Leoville, KS is
holding their Fall Festival Sun. Oct. 11 from 2:30 PM - ? Located
at the Leoville Parish Center. Bingo & games at 2:30 PM. There
is a raffle, dinner from 5-7:30 PM, and auction at 7:30 PM.

We will car pool following Mass for a pilgrimage to St. Germanus

RIGHT TO LIFE GARAGE SALE – Fri. Oct. 16 from 9 AM – 6 PM

TROOPS OF SAINT GEORGE – You can still sign up for the Troops

28th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL FOOD FAIR & BAKE SALE – The
First Congregational Church located at 212 E St., McCook is
having a food fair and bake sale Sat. Oct. 17. The bake sale is
from 9 AM – 1:30 PM. From 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM you can enjoy
a meal of German, Italian, Mexican, or Chinese food. They are
also offering a sampler platter. Delivery is availabe by calling
345-3226 between 10 – 11:30 AM.
ANNUAL SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA CATHOLIC WOMEN'S
RETREAT – will be Oct. 17 in McCook. Registration at 9:00 AM.
The featured speaker is Father Sean Kilcawley. The title for his
speech is, “Discovering your daughterhood - Love, identity, and
new evangelization.”. The day begins with Mass, and concludes
with Adoration, Rosary and Confession at 3:00 PM. Lunch is
served at noon. A free will offering will be accepted. Women of
all ages are encouraged to attend.
MASS OF HEALING AND REPARATION – Bishop James D. Conley
will celebrate a Mass of healing and reparation for all those
impacted by abortion on Fri. Oct. 16 at 5 PM at the Cathedral of
the Risen Christ, 3500 Sheridan Blvd., Lincoln. Anyone who has
been affected by abortion in any way is encouraged to attend
the Mass as well as anyone who would like to offer their
prayerful support for those affected by abortion. Extended
Eucharistic Adoration will take place after Mass until 8 PM and
priests will be available for the Sacrament of Confession.
UPCOMING EVENTS AT THE FAMILY LIFE OFFICE – A Father/Son
Program to promote respect for human sexuality and chastity
will be presented on Sun. Oct. 18 - 2- 4 PM at John XXIII
Diocesan Center, 37th and Sheridan, Lincoln, NE. Boys 10 - 14
years old and their fathers are invited to register. Registrations
can be found at the back of church. Cost is $10 per family. This
program is presented by the Lincoln Fertility Care Center and the
Family Life Office. Oct. 25 – Mother/Daughter Program at

BISHOP FLAVIN MEMORIAL SPORTING CLAYS TOURNEY – Sat.
Oct. 24 at Oak Creek Sporting Club in Brainard. Teams will start
at 9 AM with 10-minute intervals on the course. Registration fee
includes: buffet meal, 100 sporting clay targets and shells, & one
free ticket per shooter for games or raffle. Registration forms
are due Oct. 16. All net proceeds will go towards assisting the

ANNUAL PRO LIFE BANQUET & CONFERENCE – sponsored by
the Bishops’ Pastoral Plan for Pro Life Activites will be held Oct.
30 & 31 at the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln featuring Dr. Pilar
Calva (A Tribute to Dr. Jerome Lejeune). More information can

NATIONAL MARCH FOR LIFE – Jan. 19-24, 2016 – Washington
DC. Registration is open to all high school students. The cost is
$395. The trip must be paid in full by Dec. 15, 2015. Trip
includes: Round trip transportaion from Lincoln, tour of nation’s
capital, the National March for Life Basilica of the National Shrine
of the Immaculate Conception, monuments of DC, housing, &
some meals.
DIAPER DRIVE – The Lincoln Diocesan Council of Catholic
Women (LDCCW) is sponsoring the 6th Annual Pro-Life Diaper
Drive, collecting diapers throughout the month of October in
each of the Lincoln Diocese parishes. The Centers we serve
advise the Diaper sizes 3, 4 & 5 are in greatest demand. Cash
donations or checks made to the order of the Lincoln Diocesan
Council of Catholic Women (LDCCW) will be accepted and should
be mailed to the LDCCW Service Commission, Kay Wessel, 3600

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY – On Nov. 7 from 8 AM to no later
than 4PM St. Patrick Church has been assigned to help for the
day. We need volunteers to represent the church and help with
the building. It is tentatively scheduled to be hanging drywall on
that day. Experience isn’t necessary, you can learn on the job.

MCCOOK PANTRY – The McCook Pantry needs your help. The
number of families and individuals in need of food for the pantry
have gone up and the basic items that used to be available for a
reduced cost from the food bank are no longer available. If the
current trends continue the pantry will have to reduce the
amount of food supplied to families. Please be generous in your
donations and please give at the end of the month to the “Trick
or Treat for the Pantry”. Donations can be placed in the cart at
the Northwest Entrance of the church.
