The purpose of the Bachelor’s Degree in Global Nutrition and Health is to qualify the graduates to take an interdisciplinary and intercultural approach to nutrition and health challenges in
a globalised world, and to work in national as well as in international settings. The educational
programme qualifies the graduate to independently plan, implement and evaluate tasks, projects
and interventions in order to promote health and to prevent diseases.

Type: Professional bachelor’s degree
Duration: 3½ years
The programme is taught in English and includes
elements from natural, social, human and health
sciences and is divided into 14 modules.

Students develop academic and professional
competencies to function as ‘Global Nutrition and
Health’ professionals and/or be ready for further
studies.
Foundation Year
Sociology, nutritional and natural science, intercultural communication, the concept of global
burden of disease.
The students choose one of the two following
study programmes:
1. Public Health Nutrition and Food Policy
(PHNFP) focusing on food safety and security, market and consumption, sustainable
food systems and environmental health, public health nutrition and the double burden of
diseases

Lifestyle and Health Education (LHE) focusing on food habits and physical activity in
relation to health promotion and diseases
prevention, pedagogy and health education
strategies, health behaviour and facilitation of
lifestyle changes

Metropolitan University College Copenhagen is designated
as a WHO Collaborating Centre which makes us part of a
global network comprising 80 other WHO Collaboration
Centers, five of which are in Europe.
Metropolitan University College Copenhagen is involved in
national and international research and development in collaboration with Ålborg University as well as in EU and WHO
projects.

aimed at creating a sustainable future; we educate the nutritional and health professional of tomorrow.
Your student tool box will contain elements from both natural science and political and social sciences. This synergetic
cocktail of multifaceted angles and approaches will provide
graduates capable of approaching the global health and
nutrition challenges of tomorrow.
International Study Environment
Our academy has a long-standing tradition for developing
and offering higher education programmes to Danish and
international students. We pride ourselves in our excellent
study facilities and a team of highly qualified and committed lecturers. The multicultural classes with students
from many countries make every lecture an experience. We
are hosts to students from all over the world.
We care about the needs of each individual student, the
student’s academic progress and general well-being.
We pro-actively invite students for counseling if they fail
to show up for class or do not pass an exam. If a student
fails an exam thorough feedback and guidance is provided.
Furthermore, each student is initially assigned an academic
advisor which helps students adjust to the new learning
environment and ensure they have the best possible framework for making educational choices in line with their
professional goals.

Admission/entry requirements:
„„ Recognized entry qualification (+ supplementary Higher
education studies)
„„ Chemistry + Mathematics or biology or social and political sciences on upper secondary school level.
„„ English language requirement: IELTS (6,5), TOEFL (ibt
83, pbt 560, cbt 230) or University of Cambridge CAE
(A, B or C).
The application deadline is March 15 for a course start in
August.

Tuition fee for the entire education: DKK 221,900
First year fee (incl. administration fee): DKK 79,400
