Erste Bank Serbia is the oldest financial institution in the
country, established in 1864 as the first savings bank
(Novosadska Stedionica). Today the bank has a network
of 75 branches and 3 corporate centers for SME clients.
In 2005 Novosadska Banka became a member of Erste
Group, which was founded in 1819 as the first Austrian
savings bank. Since 1997, Erste Group has developed
into one of the largest financial services providers in the
eastern part of EU, with approximately 46,600 employees
serving around 15.8 million clients in 2,500 branches in 7
countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, Croatia and Serbia).


Business approach: We offer the full range of financial solutions and services across the
entire financial cycle of our clients in a “one-stop-shop”: savings, investments, lending,
consulting and advisory. The EU office of Erste Bank Serbia is unique in Serbia and provides

Geographical approach: During the last five years, through intensive investments in
employees, infrastructure and branch network expansion, Erste Bank Serbia has turned from
a regional bank to an institution spanning the whole of Serbia. Additionally, we offer clients

25 November – Erste Group officially announced start of the first phase Sirius Offices
construction, which will be located in New Belgrade. The business complex’s first phase
construction will be worth EUR 39 million and it will occupy an area of 18,500 square meters gross* of
office space. Besides office premises, Sirius Offices ground floor will be reserved for establishments
such as canteens and shops, with 230 parking places in an underground garage. The completion of the
first stage construction is planned for March 2017, when the first tenants will enter the building whilst
the second phase will entail the construction of 12,500 square meters gross and additional 160 parking
spaces. The guiding idea of the Sirius project is environmental sustainability.
12 November – MK Fintel Wind today officially opened the Kula wind farm, which is also the first
wind farm in Serbia. This facility consists of three wind turbines 178 meters tall, whose construction
cost EUR 15 million. In the course of prepartory works, concrete and steel from Serbia were used,
domestic companies and project companies were engaged, and Erste Bank participated in financing
the project. “Financing renewable energy source projects is one of the strategic commitments of Erste
Bank. We have so far invested around EUR 55 million in green projects, and cooperation with MK
Fintel Wind has been a new experience for us, in view of the fact that this is the first wind farm that we
financed“, stated Slavko Carić, CEO of Erste Bank.
29 October – Erste Bank celebrated ten years of its business operations in the Serbian market.
During the past decade, Erste Bank has extended around 200 thousands of retail loans, amounted
EUR 450 million. From the total amount of loans five thousand were aimed for the housing. More than
20 million e-banking accounts were executed in the amount of EUR 2.5 billion. Moreover, financing the
renewable energy source projects was in the focus during the past several years, with EUR 55 million
invested in this area so far. Around EUR 3 million was invested in the community through various
sponsorships and donation progammes.
