Erste Bank Serbia is the oldest financial institution in the
country, established in 1864 as the first savings bank
(Novosadska Stedionica). Today the bank has a network
of 75 branches and 3 corporate centers for SME clients.
In 2005 Novosadska Banka became a member of Erste
Group, which was founded in 1819 as the first Austrian
savings bank. Since 1997, Erste Group has developed
into one of the largest financial services providers in the
eastern part of EU, with approximately 46,000 employees
serving around 16.2 million clients in 2,700 branches in 7
countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia).
Strategic positioning

Business approach: We offer the full range of financial solutions and services across the
entire financial cycle of our clients in a “one-stop-shop”: savings, investments, lending,
consulting and advisory. The EU office of Erste Bank Serbia is unique in Serbia and provides
support for small and medium enterprises seeking to access EU funds.

Geographical approach: During the last five years, through intensive investments in
employees, infrastructure and branch network expansion, Erste Bank Serbia has turned from
a regional bank to an institution spanning the whole of Serbia. Additionally, we offer clients
who are active abroad financial services and advisory via the Erste Group subsidiaries across
Central and Eastern Europe.

Private individuals: We support our clients to fulfil their aspirations while securing their

Recent news

24 April – Erste Bank enabled its clients to submit the applications and the documentation
needed for the approval of the most sought after loan products such as credit cards, cash loans
and overdrafts in electronic format. Before providing the documentation the clients can, based on
the information inserted into the calculator, calculate the disposable monthly instalment, as well as set
by themselves the desired fixed instalment amount per credit card, and based on that the card credit
limit as well.

18 May – The first specialised branch of Erste Bank suited to pensioners‘ needs, was opened in
Novi Sad. The way in which the branch operates is adapted to senior fellow citizens‘ needs. The
branch has a separate part dedicated to educating the elderly population.

7 August – In the first half of 2015 the volume of retail and corporate loans increased, and the net
profit amounts to 742 million dinars. “The first half of the year saw solid growth of both retail and
corporate lending, which resulted in a significant increase in operating profit. Until the end of the year
we will continue to focus on further improving our products and services in accordance with the
feedback received from the market, as well as to develop new channels in order to be accessible to our
customers anytime, anywhere“, announced Slavko Carić, CEO of Erste Bank a.d. Novi Sad.

Erste Group in a nutshell
Founded in 1819 as the first Austrian savings bank, Erste Group went public in 1997 with a
strategy to expand its retail business into Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Since then
Erste Group has grown through numerous acquisitions and organically to become one of the
