Subscription Requirements
Visa Period
• At least 1 day must be left on your visa in order to subscribe for olleh mobile services.

Lines of Service
• Each subscriber is allowed one (1) prepaid and one (1) postpaid line of service under his/her name.
– For holders of certain visa types, up to two (2) postpaid lines of service may be allowed.
– Subscribers eligible for only one (1) postpaid line of service may increase their allowance to two (2)
with a security deposit.

Method of Payment
• Prepaid Services:
Credit can be added online, via ARS, directly at a kt retailer, as well as
automatically through an automatic top-off service.
• Postpaid Services:
Monthly charges can be paid though auto-debit via a Korean bank account,
or a Korean credit card. Registration of a 3rd-party's bank account can be
done at a kt Global Store, or through the kt foreign langauge customer
service center (b1583).
Purchasing a New Mobile Device
• Single payment:
Mobile phones are typically purchased in full with a one-time payment for
the cost of the device.
• Installment plans:
Installment purchases are available for those who prefer not to pay the full
cost of the device all-at-once. For installment purchase eligibility, please ask
your kt representative.

Service Limitations
• Failure to pay monthly charges may result in a suspension/termination of your mobile phone services.
• In the case of prepaid services, your account may be suspended 30 days after the usage period expires.
Your usage period can be extended by bringing your passport or Alien Registration Card to your local
kt Global Store or official kt retailer, or by calling our foreign language customer call center at (b1583).

Usage Periods on Prepaid Services
Changing or Cancelling Services
• In the event that you wish to change your phone number, or other parts of your service, bring your
phone with you to an official kt retailer or kt Plaza.
• Service cancelations must be carried out in person by visiting an official kt retailer or kt Plaza.
• In Korea, it is prohibited to use communication services under another person’s name. The registered
account holder is always legally liable for all such usage. Please do not give or lend your mobile phone
to another person, and make sure to cancel your service before leaving the country.
Minors
• Minors (those under 20 years of age) wishing to register for services or make a change to any services
must visit a kt retailer with a legal representative and provide proof of identity with a governmentissued document.

www.olleh.com), or by contacting the Foreign Language Call Center at b1583 (toll-free from a kt
mobile phone). Rate plans can only be changed once per month.

Bringing Your Own Phone?
As of May 2012, kt has moved to a blacklist policy on devices usable on our networks. This means means that
even if a device is not purchased through, or registered with kt (such as a phone brought from your previous carrier
overseas) it will be usable with kt's mobile services.

Activation
• If, when turning your device on for the first time, it does not receive signal, try turning your device
off, reseating the USIM card, and turning your device back on.
Supported Frequencies
• The mobile phone must support 3G WCDMA 2100 MHz (1800 Mhz, LTE Band 3) frequencies. Note
that CDMA mobile phones are not compatible, as they are different from WCDMA phones.

• The device in question must be in “carrier unlock” status. Unlocking a mobile phone can only be
done though the carrier from which the device was purchased.
Service Limitations
• Depending on the model, some functions and/or services may not be supported.
(Ex. MMS, data use, visual voicemail, etc.)
Quality of Service
• As phones purchased from sources other than kt have not been verified for compatibility, call and/
or network quality cannot be guaranteed. kt is not responsible for any usage charges resulting
from improper or inadvertent network access by the device.
Network Compatibility
• Service may be discontinued if the device causes impairment or damage to the network.
Korean Language Support
• Customers cannot use SMS or MMS services that include Korean text if Korean fonts are not
supported by the device.

Prepaid Rate Plans
Choose a prepaid plan, and you can pay in advance only the amount you anticipate you will use, with deductions
made every time you use the phone. Without any enrollment fees or contract, this is an ideal service if you are
unable to enroll in a postpaid plan, plan to stay in Korea for only a limited amount of time, or intend to use only a
limited number of services.

Any credit remaining after the usage period expires cannot be refunded.
Outgoing calls are suspended upon the expiration of the usage period. However, you can still receive calls for another 14 days, with the phone number
being terminated on the 45th day after the expiration of the usage period if credit is not added to the account.
"In-Network M2M Minutes" can be used for calls made from your mobile phone, to another mobile phone on the KT network.
Credit top-off transactions cannot be cancelled or refunded.

Fair Use Policy:
Under our fair use policy, "Unlimited In-Network Calling" may be restricted if any of the following conditions occur:
In-network calling time exceeds 600 minutes (10 hours) in a single day, for more than 3 times in a given month.
The total amount of in-network calling time in a given month exceeds 10,000 minutes (166.6 hours).
In-network calling is used to call more than 1,000 phone numbers in a given month.
Under our fair use policy, "Unlimited Messaging" may be restricted if any of the following conditions occur:
The number of messages sent per day is over 200 messages in at least 10 days out of the month.
The number of messages sent per day is over 500 messages.
The number of message recipients in one day is more than 3,000 in a given month.

With unlimited data rates, service speed is adjusted when the usage amount exceeds the daily allotment under your specific rate plan in order to
ensure stable data service speed.

Installment discounts are only available for new subscribers or when upgrading to a new device/plan.
Any remaining data balance will be rolled over to the end of the following month.
- Deductions apply to rollover balances before the monthly data allotment.
- Data balances are maintained when changing between i-Type plans.
When a rate plan is changed, basic rates and benefits (calling, messaging, data) are calculated on a daily pro-rated basis from the time the change is made.
When customers subscribe after the first day of the month, data calling is provided for the first month according to the number of days between the day you
signed up for the subscription and the end of the month. Thus, if you sign up on June 5, your data quantity will be calculated for 25 days, not 30 days.
Data Lifetime Plan
There are rate plans exclusively for 3G data on tablet PCs and iPads. Additional Data Plus products
(500M/1G/2G/4G) are also available for usage according to your data usage patterns.

• Most of the mobile phones currently on the market allow roaming without any particular setting
requirements. However, before traveling outside of Korea, it is a good idea to check which regions are
supported with your particular mobile phone model, as well as the availability of value-added services.
Contact the Roaming Customer Center (1588-0608, then press 5) prior to your departure for more
information.
• Rates for phone calls, text messages and data usage vary by country. Be sure to check with the Roaming
Customer Service Center on these rates before your departure. All SMS, LMS, and MMS messages
received overseas are free of charge.
Data Roaming
• The “Data Roaming Unlimited” service gives customers unlimited data roaming in 13 countries for 10,000 a day.
Apply for this service by calling the Roaming Customer Service Center or enroll at the Airport Roaming Center.

Billing statements are processed and mailed between the 11th and 15th of every month.
