ITT TECHNICAL INSTITUTE – MOUNT PROSPECT • • • B.A.S. in Data Communication Systems Technology B.A.S. in Digital Entertainment and Game Design B.A.S. in Software Engineering Technology The ITT Technical Institute – Mount Prospect has notified the Illinois Board of Higher Education of its intent to seek the following degrees: B.A.S. in Data Communication Systems Technology B.A.S. in Digital Entertainment and Game Design B.A.S. in Software Engineering Technology The Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Communication Systems Technology is intended to help graduates prepare to design, deploy and manage data communication systems and infrastructures. Courses are designed to address challenges in understanding and applying various solutions to help user organizations achieve their business goals with effective use of data communication technologies of choice. The technical content focuses on theories and applications of various popular data communication technologies and platforms. The curriculum builds upon topics of networking and internetworking standards and protocols, routing, switching, capacity planning, traffic engineering, web technologies, network service integration and various configurations that enable desired functions in given systems. The coursework offers a foundation in communication theories through the study of subjects such as data and networking communications, technical mathematics, theories and analyses in areas of integrated network systems and services, database functions and administration, and lifelong learning subjects. The Bachelor of Applied Science in Digital Entertainment and Game Design is meant to help graduates prepare for career opportunities in a variety of entry-level positions involving technology associated with designing and developing digital games and multimedia applications. Courses in this program offer a foundation in digital game design (through the study of subjects such as gaming technology, game design process, animation, level design) and including general education coursework. The purpose of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Software Engineering Technology is to help students prepare for career opportunities in areas involving software design and development, systems analysis, programming, software development process design and management and other areas related to computer software production to help meet the needs of business and consumer markets. The coursework offers a foundation in programming skills using a number of popular languages and platforms while systematically addressing theories and methods of typical software engineering processes and models governed by industry standards.
