The ITT Technical Institute – Mount Prospect has notified the Illinois Board of Higher
Education of its intent to seek the following degrees:
B.A.S. in Data Communication Systems Technology
B.A.S. in Digital Entertainment and Game Design
B.A.S. in Software Engineering Technology
The Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Communication Systems Technology is
intended to help graduates prepare to design, deploy and manage data communication systems
and infrastructures. Courses are designed to address challenges in understanding and applying
various solutions to help user organizations achieve their business goals with effective use of data
communication technologies of choice. The technical content focuses on theories and applications
of various popular data communication technologies and platforms. The curriculum builds upon
topics of networking and internetworking standards and protocols, routing, switching, capacity
planning, traffic engineering, web technologies, network service integration and various
configurations that enable desired functions in given systems. The coursework offers a foundation
in communication theories through the study of subjects such as data and networking
communications, technical mathematics, theories and analyses in areas of integrated network
systems and services, database functions and administration, and lifelong learning subjects.
The Bachelor of Applied Science in Digital Entertainment and Game Design is meant to
help graduates prepare for career opportunities in a variety of entry-level positions involving
technology associated with designing and developing digital games and multimedia applications.
Courses in this program offer a foundation in digital game design (through the study of subjects
such as gaming technology, game design process, animation, level design) and including general
education coursework.
The purpose of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Software Engineering Technology is
to help students prepare for career opportunities in areas involving software design and
development, systems analysis, programming, software development process design and
management and other areas related to computer software production to help meet the needs of
business and consumer markets. The coursework offers a foundation in programming skills using
a number of popular languages and platforms while systematically addressing theories and
