Locate your Course Reserves at the Libraries
Course reserves are course-related
materials that your professors place
“on reserve” through the Libraries.
Locate your Course Reserves from
the Libraries’ homepage – simply click on the Course Reserves tab and
search by professor or course name. Some course reserves are available
electronically, while others require you to come into a library to check
them out.
reserves.ucsd.edu
Activate your My Library Account
By activating My Library Account, you can renew books
online, request that they be delivered to the UCSD library
of your choice, and you can use the express check out
machines in Geisel. Visit our website and look for the My
Library Account link in the upper right hand corner to get
started.
There’s Wi-Fi in all Libraries
Register your laptop’s wireless card with
UCSD Network Operations to access
wireless throughout the Libraries and
campus. If you want to print from your
laptop in the Libraries, or in an ACS
computing lab, you will need to download
two different remote printing files onto your
laptop.

Find Library Hours Online
The hours of the nine libraries vary, and change
during summer, intersession, finals week, and
holidays, but they’re always listed online. CLICS is
open 24/7, 10th Week through Finals.

Work at a Library
The Libraries hire student workers and we have flexible
hours with great pay! Library job openings are listed online
through Port Triton. Or, you can contact Vinnie Ursillo
at 534-3063, vursillo@ucsd.edu
careers.ucsd.edu/PortTriton/StudentLogin.shtml
Use the Libraries’ from Off-Campus
To use our online journals and databases
from anywhere off-campus, you need
to change your computer’s preferences
(once) to enable UCSD proxy server
access (a.k.a. remote access or offcampus access). Simple instructions at:
libraries.ucsd.edu/proxy/
Print in any Library
To print from any library computer, you’ll need to purchase and use
a copy card. There are copy card machines throughout the libraries.
Copies are $.10/page for black & white and $.50/page for
color. If you are in an ACS Lab within a library and
needing to print, you’ll need to establish a laser printing
account that is connected to your student account.
Printing in the labs is $.05/page for black & white and
$.35/page for color.

Find Computer Labs on Campus
You can find the locations of campus
computer labs online. In the computing labs,
you’ll find Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc.,
on these computers. There are large labs in the
basement of the Geisel Library and at CLICS by Revelle Plaza.

Request Materials from Other Libraries
If the UCSD Libraries don’t have a book or journal article that you
need, you have a couple of options. The first is to
search in Circuit, a combined online library catalog
of UCSD, San Diego State, Cal State-San Marcos,
and University of San Diego libraries. Through
Circuit, you can Request books from other SD
libraries. Additionally, in many research databases
use UC-eLinks and the Request option to submit
interlibrary loan requests for journal articles or
books not available at UCSD.
