Must be able to do equipment maintenance including repair of forensic equipment and keep all forensic equipment and related supplies properly maintained, stored and ready for use. Will be responsible for the general cleaning of the crime laboratory and forensic equipment. Must be proficient with a microscope. Must be able to safely handle, maintain and clean firearms. Must be able to demonstrate forensic equipment to tour groups ranging form elementary grades through college and professional level groups. Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record, no felony convictions and no history of a series of misdemeanor violations that have occurred in the last five years. Must be able to set up and break down the forensic science lab for classes and laboratory projects. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and carry it a distance of 30 feet. Must be able to use Microsoft Word. This individual may be called upon to provide tutoring in the area of forensic science. Good organizational skills as well as good communication skills are essential. Must be able to do rolled fingerprint impressions that are capable of being classified in both the Henry and NCIC Classification systems. Some weekend and morning work may be required.
