May 21, 22 & 23 the Charlotte city streets close to cars and open to race fans with live music, autograph sessions, food and beverage, simulators, show cars, bands and NASCAR drivers. Coolers/bags/backpacks can not exceed 14 x 14 x 14 inches. Plastic and aluminum beverage containers are allowed – no glass. All bags must be of a size to comfortably sit under your seat, and umbrellas are not allowed. All coolers and bags are subject to inspection at any time. Transportation & Parking CAMPING INFORMATION All camping on Lowe’s Motor Speedway property is reserved. Each camping area is staffed with 24-hour security personnel beginning May 11th for the Sprint All Star Race week and May 18th for the Coca Cola 600 race week. Call 704-455-4445 for information and availability on the following camping areas. A) There are several areas of weekly camping priced at $100 per week in advance – Rock City Camping; Morehead Farms Camping; Peninsula Camping; Tim Flock Camping is $150. Shuttles run daily to the restroom/shower facilities (see shuttle schedule). B) Full service (family atmosphere) camping is available at the Tom Johnson Racing Resort formerly the Fleetwood RV Camping Resort. C) Country Crock Campground (family atmosphere) is conveniently located near a restroom/shower facility outside turn 4. D) Infield Camping. Camping rules: • All guests and visitors must have a valid photo ID. • All motorized vehicles must have a valid state license plate or SMI/LMS Golf Cart Credential. No unauthorized golf carts, motorized bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles, scooters, etc. are permitted. • Camping is permitted in designated campgrounds only. • Excessive drunkenness or lewd behavior will not be tolerated. • No ground fires or fire rings. Fires must be contained and above ground in an approved container. • No firearms, dangerous weapons, or fireworks permitted. • No scaffolding unless it is safely attached to vehicle. • No soliciting or commercial sales permitted. • Parking sticker must be affixed to windshield at all times. Pets are not allowed in the bath house or any other public building. Pets are not allowed inside LMS gates; this includes the infield and spectator entrances. Pets will not be left outside at anytime unattended. • No oversized flatbed, box, or cube trucks will be permitted. • No generators from 12 midnight till 7:00 am. • No loud or boisterous activity after 12 midnight till 7:00 am, including generators. • Please be aware of all carbon monoxide dangers that can be harmful to you or other guests. • Vehicle and generator exhaust MUST be expelled safely into roadways & not into adjacent campsites. • Please place trash in receptacles or trash bags provided by LMS. • Speed limit is 5 MPH. • Vehicle and camping equipment must not extend beyond assigned space. • One camping unit and one vehicle per site. NO UNAUTHORIZED MARKETING The users of this camping space are prohibited from conducting commerce or engaging in any marketing activities. This prohibition includes, but is not limited to, the sale of goods, sampling, signage, surveying, food vending or any other activity that in the sole discretion of the staff of Lowe’s Motor Speedway is deemed detrimental to the facility.Violation of this policy will result in forfeiture of the camping space and any monies paid. This camping space also may not be used for advertising, promotion (including contests or sweepstakes) or trade purposes without the expressed written consent of the Lowe’s Motor Speedway. INFIELD INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES Infield tickets provide access only to the infield (not to grandstands), and grandstand tickets do not allow access to the infield. The infield opens for camping on Friday, May 15, at 6:00 AM for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race weekend on a reserved basis. The infield opens for camping on Friday, May 22, at 6:00 AM for the Coca-Cola 600 weekend on a reserved basis. Camping space sales are handled by calling 704-455-4445 or the Ticket Services Department at 1-800-455-FANS (3468). Additional tickets or tickets for walk-in guests may be purchased at Gates 1 and 26 upon arrival. Ticket prices: Sprint All Star Race - $75, Coca Cola 600 - $100. • All fans and visitors must have an infield ticket/credential which must be worn at all time. Grandstand tickets are not acceptable for admission into the infield. Photo ID must accompany a credential. • Guests must have a pass out & infield ticket to re-enter. • No grilling during race activities. • No pets permitted in the infield unless service animals assisting disabled guests. • Scaffolding and flag height restrictions: South end of the infield (turns 1 & 2) – 8 foot maximum. North end of the infield (turns 3 & 4) – 12 foot maximum. • Please display a parking sticker or hang tag prominently in your vehicle at all times. • All approved scaffolding must be safely affixed with a guard rail to approved vehicles and be within proper height requirements. • No vehicles over 8’ 0” allowed in the south end of the infield. • Only tents, vans, and very small campers are allowed in the south end of the infield. • No wagon races or other reckless activity that could cause serious injuries. • Only motor homes & trucks with campers/trailers permitted in the north end of the infield. • PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE INFIELD CAMPING AREAS. PORTABLE TOILET RENTALS For information regarding portable toilet rentals and RV pumping services, please contact A Sani-Can at 800-521-8941. Service is provided to the infield and all campgrounds. Fees will be charged for pumping services. SHOWER FACILITIES Four speedway owned restroom/shower facilities are available for camping guests: 1) Country Crock Camping (outside Turn 4); 2) Tom Johnson Racing Resort (formerly the Fleetwood RV Camping Resort (across Highway 29); 3) Infield in road course area; and 4) Infield between the lower (northernmost) garage and the Sprint Cup garage. Maui Showers will have their portable shower trucks available in the following areas. Fee charged for these: 5) Tim Flock Camp Camping by Gate O. 6) Rock City Camping Gate Z. GOLF CARTS, ATVS, SCOOTERS, ETC. All golf carts must carry an LMS Golf Cart Permit. Golf cart usage is limited to working staff, sponsors, third party vendors, and others only with special approval from LMS President. Personal golf carts, ATVs, scooters, etc., are not permitted on LMS property. MOTORCYCLE PARKING • Grassy area along perimeter road outside fenced parking area between Gates 3 and 4. • On the grass median between the LMS perimeter road and US Highway 29 at Gate 3. • On the grass outside the condo parking area between Gates 8 and 9. 4) • Outside backstretch at Concord Water Tower at Gate 18. TRAFFIC FLOW Approaching Lowe’s Motor Speedway: • Fans who wish to park on the front side of the speedway should travel I-85 to Exit 49. During peak traffic, I-85 may be forced to exit at Exit 43, 48, 52 or 58, each of which is routed to Highway 29 on the front side of the speedway. • Fans who wish to park on the back side of Lowe’s Motor Speedway should travel NC 49 to Harrisburg, to Morehead Road turning East – or US Highway 29 to Morehead Road turning west. They will then be directed to the closest parking available. • Fans can also gain access to Hwy 29 from I-485. Presented by Transportation & Parking Counter flow Traffic: • The Department of Transportation will counter flow traffic on the roads surrounding the speedway (US Highway 29, Morehead Road, Bruton Smith Boulevard, etc.) to facilitate a faster and more efficient traffic flow (traveling to and leaving the speedway). Additional lanes will be dedicated in the direction needed, or all lanes will be converted to one way in the direction needed as traffic dictates. • US Highway 29 (front of speedway) will be counter flowed to 3 lanes in one direction and 1 lane in the lesser direction both before and after the race. • Bruton Smith Boulevard from I-85 to US Highway 29 will be counter flowed to 3 lanes in one direction and 1 lane in the lesser direction both before and after races. • Morehead Road from Harrisburg to Entrance P on speedway property will be counter flowed to all lanes in one direction both before and after the race. • Morehead Road West from US Highway 29 to Mallard Creek Road/Mallard Creek Church Road will be counter flowed to all lanes in one direction after the race. TRAM AND SHUTTLE SCHEDULE Nationwide On Your Side Ride shuttles and golf carts will be running throughout the race week with stops at various points around the speedway. Major stops are marked with signage. Nationwide On Your Side Ride golf cart service – Look for the blue-canopied On Your Side Ride golf carts, offering you transportation to and from parking areas and admission gates. The Nationwide on Your Side Ride is staffed by local volunteers who know their way around LMS and are ready to help all race fans, especially the elderly and physically challenged fans, and families with children. Bus Shuttles – The speedway operates 3 types of bus shuttle service on LMS property: • Morehead Farms, Peninsula and Rock City Campgrounds to and from the shower houses, ticket office, and souvenir row area from 7 AM – 12 Noon starting on the Monday of each race week. • Morehead Farms, Peninsula and Rock Campgrounds to and from the track from 12 Noon – 12 Midnight on race and pole days. • Morehead Farms, Peninsula and Rock City Campgrounds to and from The Dirt Track during race weeks 2 hours before the event until 2 hours after the event. Nationwide On Your Side Ride tram service – A number of tram stops are located throughout the facility including Gates 2, 3, 4, 7/8, 12, 18, 26 and 30, and the tram service runs in a clockwise direction on the perimeter road between these stop-off points. These trams operate on race and qualifying days from 12 Noon until the start of the race or qualifying or until dusk. Presented by Driving Directions TOWED VEHICLES – WRECKER SERVICE A number of situations will result in cars being towed to the LMS tow-a-way area. Vehicles parked in the following situations will be towed: • Vehicles parked in numbered and reserved spaces without the appropriate parking credential. • Vehicles blocking fire lanes, gates, entrances, emergency exits, other vehicles. Vehicles in violation are towed to an area outside the backstretch in the Nursery Parking area (see map). If your vehicle has been towed, contact speedway security at 704-4553220 or speak to a speedway Guest Services Representative and he/she will assist you with directions or help you get to security headquarters. ADA Parking (Paid): • Available in Lot M across from Gate 25 at the backstretch (please see driving directions for Yellow Parking) ADA Parking (Free): • Available in Lots E,H,T (please see driving directions for Green Parking) Additional Traffic Hints: • Speedway officials urge race fans to arrive at the track early. Use the extra time to tailgate, visit displays, souvenir row and enjoy pre-race activities. If possible, plan your trip to arrive a couple hours before the race is scheduled to begin. • Turn to WSOC-FM 103.7 for up-to-the-minute traffic reports. • I-85 and exit 49 (Speedway Blvd.) is usually the most congested on event days. If possible, try to avoid exit 49 and Speedway Blvd. Good alternates are Hwy 29 from both the North and the South and Hwy 49 to Morehead Road. Exit Disclaimer: The North Carolina Department of Transportation will have various traffic patterns in place for incoming and outgoing traffic. Please follow their directions. Sometimes you’ll have to “turn right to go left!” All traffic patterns will eventually lead you back to I-85, I-77 and other major highways.
