Sun Printing in a Day ‐ Note Cards or T‐Shirt sessions Course # 1386 Materials List Required: • A clean rag or old hand/dish towel • A hairdryer • A watch or timer that displays minutes and seconds • Please wear clothes/shoes to class that you don’t mind getting dirty • T‐shirt Class (starting June 2012): Bring at least one light colored 100% cotton t‐shirt (pre‐washed, no fabric softener) or 1 yard of tightly woven, light colored 100% cotton cloth. Optional: • A selection of small opaque and translucent objects/negatives/natural objects/transparencies o Things that may have special meaning for the student are suggested o Teacher will have objects for student use in class • An apron to protect your clothes (should not be reused in the kitchen) Available from instructor day of class: • Additional note cards with envelopes ($1.50 per card or $10.00 for a 10‐pack) (notecards class only) • Sun print chemistry for home use ($20.00 – with instructions) Materials fee: $20 for Notecards class or $12 for T‐shirt class includes • Handouts • Artist’s tape o Process information and • Masking tape instructions • Butcher paper (protects work o Troubleshooting worksheet surfaces) o Local & mail order suppliers • Post‐class chemical disposal o Suggested reading • Dixie and Styrofoam cups (chemical • Nitrile exam gloves (no powder, weighing/mixing) suitable for those with latex • Plastic picnic spoons (chemical allergies) weighing/mixing) • Chemicals for in‐class use • Blank transparency sheets • Selection of artist’s papers for • Paper towels printing • Dust masks • 5 Note cards (with envelopes) • Glass cleaner for printing (notecards class only) • Distilled water (chemical mixing)
