This is our chance to get to know you. -Take a beat and find your focus before beginning your monologue. - Place your focus point in front of you, instead of stage left or right. We see you better that way! - If you have two pieces, make sure you take a beat in between them. Use just enough time to make it clear that this is a different character with a new objective or goal. -Make sure you know what your character wants. What is the best possible thing that could happen to this character at the end of the monologue? -Be prepared. If you know what your character wants and have rehearsed, there’s no need for nerves.
