VOLUNTEER ROLE DESCRIPTION
Guitar Tutor
Extension Service, Georges Hill, Dublin 7
Project Leader players
Provide 1:1 Guitar lessons for beginner level
Duration: 1 hour per week on a Friday morning/afternoon
Duties & Responsibilities:
1.
Work within the framework of the overall objectives of Focus
Ireland.
2.
To teach guitar on a one to one basis with a Focus Ireland customer for 1 hour per week on a Friday morning/afternoon preferably.
3.
To engage in supervision sessions on a regular basis with your
Volunteer Supervisor.
4.
To participate in relevant training and development courses as agreed with your Volunteer Supervisor.
5.
To undertake such other duties as might be reasonably assigned from time to time in consultation with your Volunteer Supervisor.
6.
To be vigilant to any Health, Safety and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of your line manager or Health & Safety Representative

The Person:
Good technical ability in guitar playing
Experience in teaching guitar
Desirable to have worked in a similar organisation with a similar customer group
Commitment to the Highest Level of Service
An understanding of social exclusion and consequently an understanding of social inclusion
Respect for others
Good awareness of health and safety procedures
Please note:
The Garda vetting process must be completed before a volunteer can start
The need for this support will be dependent on the customers we are working with at a given time.
