TITLE:
Guitar Club Advisor
QUALIFICATIONS:





Teaching and/or substitute teaching certificate required (permanent or county
substitute).
Employee of Flemington Raritan School District; current intermediate school teacher
preferred.
Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal
resident alien status.
Ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, administrators, and officials in a
club environment.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education deem
appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO:
Intermediate School Principal or designee.
DESCRIPTION:
Guitar Club offers students the opportunity to learn to play the guitar, the most popular
musical instrument in the world. Students will gather together to learn music in a
friendly, non-competitive environment. All levels of play are welcome. Students will
learn guitar notations, chord graphs, traditional and modern techniques.
RESPONSIBILITIES:







Provide students the instruction and guidance necessary for a successful experience.
Plan and schedule a quality program.
Disseminate and collect permission slips from all students before entry to the club's
first meeting.
Recommend a budget for needed supplies and materials, including awards.
Maintain accurate attendance records.
Monitor and supervise students at all times.
Establish and maintain a student-centered and positive club environment.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and hours as approved by the Board of Education as per FREA agreement.
EVALUATION:
Intermediate School Principal or designee annually by the month of June.
