(Intermarché), one of the most
important European en-gros
distributors, with more than
4.000 sales points in Europe. The
company operated in Romania
since 2002, having 12 stores in
Ploiesti, Giurgiu, Focsani, Targu
Jiu, Satu Mare, Ramnicu Valcea,
Targoviste, Constanta, Sibiu,
Vaslui, Drobeta Turnu Severin
and Barlad.

CDE R Interex Store Assortments with Socrate+ ERP
Brief company description
CDE R Interex is part of Groupement des
Mousquetaires, which operates the
Intermarché supermarkets and, also, the
Ecomarché, Netto, Bricomarché, Vêti, Roady
and Restaumarché specialized stores. With
almost 4000 sales points in Europe and a
turnover of 34,8 billion EUR, Groupement des
Mousquetaires is one of the most important
European en-gros distributor. Groupement
des Mousquetaires was founded in 1969 in
France and has over 130,000 employees in
Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Poland and the
Balkans.
The first Interex store in Romania was
opened by CDE R Interex in 2002, the
Romanian network including now 12 stores
in Ploiesti, Giurgiu, Focsani, Targu Jiu, Satu
Mare, Ramnicu Valcea, Targoviste, Constanta,
Sibiu, Vaslui, Drobeta Turnu Severin and
Barlad. Today, CDE R Interex has almost 500
employees.
The Challenge
With more than 30 years of Groupement des
Mousquetaires retail experience, the
CDE R Interex management understood from
the very beginning that an ERP
implementation is needed in order to keep
up with the competition and to accomplish
the profitability objectives. „On a market
where our main competitors were already
present, we needed a good development
strategy and we had to find, also, the support
elements to help us applying it. And one of
these elements, perhaps the most important,
was the ERP solution. We needed a reliable,
easy to use system, adapted to the Romanian
legislation, a solution that proved already its
qualities and capabilities in the retail area.”,
said Alin Ilie, IT manager at CDE R Interex.
After a careful research of the Romanian ERP
market, the company`s management
decided to implement in all Interex stores the
ERP system developed by BITSoftware,
Socrate+. The selection was based on the
fact that Socrate is a modular system, which
allows installation of modules according to
user needs and offers also security levels in
accordance to the company's policy.
The Solution
Socrate+ ERP covers all the financial and
commercial activity of the company, through
the Suppliers Orders, Purchases, Sales,
Stocks, Revenues, Payments, Accounting,
Fixed Assets and Payroll modules. The
transmission of data between the
headquarters and the stores is done by
replication, allowing relevant data sharing
and efficient information movement
between offices, thus ensuring real-time
information to the management. So, a good
control of information related to items
classification, pricing policy, sales, purchases
and more is ensured. „The system has
everything we need to efficiently manage
our stores and warehouses. With Socrate+
we have an overview of the goods on the
entire purchasing and sales cycles. And that
represents a huge advantage for us in our
fight with the competition”, noted Alin Ilie.
Moreover, due to the friendly interface, the
users training time was significantly reduced,
allowing to meet the deadlines for all store

CDE R Interex has a better control at
