International Cooperation International Cooperation • The university has concluded bilateral agreements of cooperation with approximately 100 universities and research centres throughout the world, especially in Europe, North America, Asia, and southern Africa. • The university is involved in several international networks. International Networks • The university has partnership agreements with the United Nations Environment Programme, UNEP, and with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, UNITAR. • The university coordinates the Finnish-Russian Cross-Border University, CBU. International Mobility • Annually, about 1,500 international students study at the University of Eastern Finland. • The university offers a variety of international Master’s and doctoral degree programmes taught in English, as well as several international non-degree programmes. • Student and teaching staff exchanges with European universities are mainly realised within the Erasmus, Nordplus, FIRST and Campus Europae programmes. Student exchanges with the United States are mainly carried out within the framework of the International Student Exchange Program, ISEP, and the ASLAFulbright programme.
