All Things Pencil with Fine Artist / Illustrator Ken Stetz

Graphite pencils, sketch and wash pencils, carbon pencils, Prismacolor and pastel pencils, inktense and watercolor pencils….every
type of pencil can be explored in this class using a variety of surfaces and techniques. Subject matter can range from landscapes
to portraits. Instructor Ken Stetz will individually customize the class based on your pencil and subject matter interest.
8 week 2 hour course $216.00 plus materials.
High Focus Acrylic Painting with Professional Artist Cheryl Griesbach
2 times available: Monday 10am–12:30pm (2 ½ hrs.) April 6 – June 15 *No class May 25th Tuesday 7pm -9pm April 7 – June 9
Acrylic painting: Fast, fluid, fixable and forgiving. From beginners to advanced students, this class will explore methods used to produce images
of dazzling beauty. Acrylics now compete with oils in terms of the range of colors and transparent glazing colors. The course will teach a
specific foolproof method and easy to learn techniques. Use of color charts, brushes and other materials will be discussed in addition to
instructor demonstrations. Prints to design your own painting for a 16x20 art panel will be provided. These prints are based on scans from still
life paintings, botanicals, landscapes, and 17th century nature subject matter. Students are also able to provide their own reference materials.
10 week 2 ½ hour course $340.00 plus materials.

Painting in Watercolor with Fine Artist / Illustrator Ken Stetz

Study the techniques used to create strong vibrant watercolor paintings. The class will cover composition, drawing on watercolor
paper, light and shadow, color mixing, color application, controlling edges and managing your palette. Explore subject matter
such as landscapes, seascapes, and people. Beginners to advanced painters are welcome. Instructor Ken Stetz works with
students on an individual basis. Work from your own material or from pre-worked studies provided by Ken.

Oil Painting Techniques with Professional Artist Scott Nickerson

Let Professional Artist Scott Nickerson teach you classic oil painting techniques used by the great masters. Still Life, Landscape,
Trompe l'oeil and portrait can all be explored in this class. All skill levels are welcomed. Students may work from photo reference or
live still life setups.

Recreating a Masterpiece with Professional Artist Scott Nickerson
Tuesday 1pm – 3pm April 7 – June 9
In this class Professional Artists Scott Nickerson will instruct students on how to recreate a masterpiece by Bouguereau. Students
will recreate the painting “At the Fountain” in oil and discover the magic of this Old Master. Reference material is provided in
the price of the class.

Mixed Media for Adults with Artist Carla Valentino
Tuesday 7pm - 9pm April 7 – June 9
Instructor Carla Valentino will introduce and then explore the nearly limitless possibilities and combinations that are available to the
mixed media artist. Ink, pencil, pastel, paint( acrylic, watercolor or encaustic), paper of all kinds, cardboard, prints, photos and different
found objects are just some of the materials that can be incorporated into a unique mixed media work. No experience necessary- just a
willingness to experiment with a variety of materials. The works of mixed media artists such as Picasso, Matisse and Rauschenberg, as
well as more contemporary artists will be studied.
10 week 2 hour course $270.00 plus materials.
Painting a Portrait & Drawing from a Live Model with Professional Artist Scott Nickerson
Wednesdays 10am -12 pm April 8 – June 10
Professional Artist Scott Nickerson dismantles the complexity behind painting a great portrait. This class has been re-structured, and will
now have the student begin the portrait process by painting a tonal start using just one brown color. In the weeks following, the student
will continue painting in grisaille and finally add colors carefully premixed to a value scale. This method should simplify the process of
color matching. The model will pose for at least 3 sessions.
10 week 2 hour course $270.00 plus materials. (plus model fees due on first day of class)
Comic Book Techniques with Professional Artist Sean Pryor
Wednesday 4pm-6pm April 8 – June 10
Ever wonder how your favorite comics are made? Cartoonist Sean Pryor teaches you how to make your own
comics from start to finish. Students begin with character designs and background settings, and then create
rough sketches of comic pages. After these rough layouts have been created, students then will copy them onto
actual comic art board with pencil, followed by going over them with inks. Once the inking is complete, students
will then color the pages, thus making their own comics in a fun and relaxed environment.
10 week 2 hour course $270.00 plus materials.

Adult Comic Book Techniques with Professional Artist Sean Pryor
Wednesday 7pm- 9pm April 8 – June 10
Think comics are just for kids? Think again. Starting in the 1960's with the Underground 'Comix' movement, comics have gradually
become a medium respected not only for its art, but its growing literary credibility. This 10 week course will take a look at how to
design and create comics made for a more mature audience. Students will start with their own ideas, develop them from character
designs and rough layouts, and eventually create personal works of comic art of their own design. Whether it is sociological in nature,
autobiographical, or comic journalism, this class will help the student develop a clear and distinct voice in, visual sequential narrative.
10 week 2 hour course $270.00 plus materials.
Techniques with Pencils, Pens and Brushes with Fine Artist / Illustrator Ken Stetz
Thursdays 10am – 12pm April 9 – June 18 *No class May 28th
This class will cover the fundamentals of drawing as well as studying specific techniques when using pencils, charcoal, pens
and water based mediums. A special emphasis will be placed on creating original work from the people and places around
us ... the class will spend a session or two on location. The use of a digital camera and a sketch journal will be studied.

Creating a Dynamic College Portfolio with Fine Artist / Illustrator Ken Stetz
Thursday 4:30pm – 6:30pm April 9 – June 18 *No class May 28th
Learn advanced university level drawing and other medium techniques as you create original art that will showcase your
artistic strengths and individuality. Ken Stetz is a widely published illustrator and a gallery represented fine artist with
extensive experience dealing with many major art universities. The success of his past students speaks for itself; Carnegie
Mellon, UArts, FIT, SVA, Syracuse, Kutztown, SCAD, and Tyler School of Art at Temple University are all programs that have
accepted students from his portfolio classes.

Contemporary Techniques - Pencils to Paintbrushes with Fine Artist / Illustrator Ken Stetz

Study contemporary techniques to help master the use of graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, watercolor pencil, and water based
painting mediums. Sharpen your drawing and/or painting skills and choose your favorite subjects from portraits to landscapes and
everything in between.
10 week 2 hour course $270.00 plus materials.
Life Drawing and Painting with Professional Artist Scott Nickerson
Friday 10am – 12pm April 10 – June 19 *No class May 29th
Students have the option to paint or draw from a live model. The model will keep a pose for several weeks. All drawing
materials are welcomed. Artists wishing to paint will be advised to start on a grey toned canvas or art board and will
begin with a simplified palette of colors.
10 week 2 hour course $270.00 plus materials. (plus model fee due first day of class)
The Magical Leap into Oil Painting with Professional artist Cheryl Griesbach
Saturday 10am – 12:30pm (2 ½ hrs.) April 11 - June 20 *No class May 30th
This course will teach you all you need to know to create fully three-dimensional 17th century style Flemish paintings in various genres. Botanical,
still life, landscape, animals and nature subject matter will be explored and duplicated. Professional Artist Cheryl Griesbach method of teaching
oils from beginners to more advanced students will give you the confidence and knowledge to produce vivid and detailed paintings. Specific use
of color charts, brushes and other materials will be discussed for fast drying oil paintings. Prints to design your own painting for a 16x20 art panel
will be provided. Students are also able to provide their own reference materials.
10 week 2 ½ hour course $340.00 plus materials.
Urban Art Techniques with Professional artist Andrew “Toast” Herzer
Saturday 11am – 1:00pm April 11 – June 20 *No class May 30th
Learn and perfect the techniques involved in creating Urban Art. Andrew “Toast” Herzer will instruct students in learning
the different skills and techniques involved in Urban Art. In this class students will create their own designs and drawings in
a ‘Black Book’. In subsequent classes, students will have the choice to transfer their designs from the ‘Black Book’ to a piece
of foam core and use spray paint outside or continue on their ‘Black Book’ designs. Students will also have the opportunity
to explore transferring works onto canvas. There will be demonstrations by the instructor throughout the duration of the
course.
