Experience the adventure of a lifetime
Welcome to Coral Princess Cruises and our exciting world of
expedition cruising. We are proud to present to you a range of
exciting and diverse itineraries cruising seldom visited destinations
of Northern Australia, the Kimberley and Australian Outback.
I invite you to join us on our 10-night voyage of discovery and
adventure to the Australian Outback between Darwin and Broome,
or our 11 or 12 night Cape York and Arnhem Land voyages
between Cairns and Darwin. For those with more time and a great
sense of adventure, why not combine your cruise with one of our
exciting 4WD tours of the Kimberley, providing you the opportunity
to discover these magical landscapes by both land and sea.
My wife Vicki and I formed Coral Princess Cruises in 1984, cruising
the Great Barrier Reef with a converted World War II Submarine
Chaser. Our belief in the concept of nature based cruising and
our commitment to the provision of a first class, truly Australian
environmental experience resulted in the commissioning of Coral
Princess, Coral Princess II and then in 2005 the launch of our
state-of-the-art Oceanic Discoverer. Today, as we commence our
31st year of discovering the South Pacific’s most exciting and
diverse cruising destinations both Vicki and I are extremely proud
that our company is recognised as Australia’s longest established
and most awarded extended cruise operator.
Our dream has long been to share with others the opportunity to
experience at first hand the great beauty, dramatic landscapes
and cultures of the Kimberley, the area affectionately known as
‘The Land of Wait a While’, and to see this magnificent region
as the early explorers did, from the deck of a ship. The launch of
Oceanic Discoverer has also provided us with the opportunity to
develop innovative cruises to some of the South Pacific’s most
exotic destinations, including Papua New Guinea, Islands of the
South Pacific, Indonesia’s Spice Islands and Raja Ampat and New
Zealand.
Both of our expedition ships, Oceanic Discoverer and Coral
Princess, are large enough to provide all the comforts and facilities
you would expect of bigger ships, yet small enough to enable us
to access sites beyond the reach of larger vessels. With Coral
Princess and Oceanic Discoverer limited to just 48 and 72 guests
respectively, and our open bridge policy, you will share in the
knowledge of our experienced Expedition Leaders and Guest
Lecturers as we retrace the paths of pioneering explorers William
Dampier, Abel Tasman, Matthew Flinders and of course Phillip
Parker King. Each day will be a new experience and with our
specially designed Xplorer excursion boat and inflatable zodiacs
you will discover dramatic river gorges, islands and other remote
areas of the Kimberley and our northern coastline.
Do as much as you want or as little as you like, the choice is yours!
Our worldwide reputation is testament to our professional allAustralian crew, they will ensure that your every need is met. When
you join us aboard a Coral Princess cruise be ready to experience
the adventure of a lifetime.
We look forward to welcoming you aboard.

Dream - Explore - Discover
Mark Twain
A 10-night exploration voyage to the Kimberley has so many
highlights it’s hard to know where to begin. Your expedition cruise
commences from either Darwin - the capital city of the Northern
Territory, or Broome, famous for its beauty and cultured pearls.
Both are unique frontier towns and are the gateways to the
magnificent Kimberley wilderness.
Our Cape York and Arnhem Land expedition is a magnificent
exploration of the unique and remote Northern Australian coastline.
Your expedition voyage begins from either Cairns - the gateway to
the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef, Cape York Peninsula
and the fascinating islands of Torres Strait, or Darwin - gateway to
the remote and mysterious Arnhem Land and the famous national
parks of Kakadu and Cobourg Peninsula, areas affectionately
known as the ‘Top End’.
You access the Kimberley and Northern Australian coast, some of
the world’s most remote areas, aboard our purpose-built expedition
vessels, Coral Princess or Oceanic Discoverer. Shallow draught
and manoeuvrability make these small-ships ideal to safely
navigate the mighty rivers and scenic inlets of these regions.
Both vessels offer facilities you would expect of larger ships, with
cocktail bars, sundeck, resource library, lecture lounge, telephone/
fax, wireless internet access and more. Accommodation offers
a choice of room grades and bedding configuration, all airconditioned with en suites. Excursions are aboard the specially
designed excursion vessel ‘Xplorer’ and a fleet of zodiacs. The
unique hydraulic platform at the stern of both ships allows absolute
ease of access for all guests embarking from the Main Deck.
Explore the gorges of the Mitchell, King George, Prince Regent
and Hunter rivers in the Kimberley, or navigate through mysterious
Arnhem Land and remote rivers of Northern Queensland on the
Cape York and Arnhem Land expedition.
Experienced, highly informative Expedition Leaders and Guest
Lecturers will supervise your expedition itinerary, maximising the
experiences offered on excursions ashore. Sensitive arrangements
are also made allowing us to absorb the cultural remnants of one
of the world’s most ancient people, the Australian Aborigine.
All Coral Princess cruises are personally enriching, intellectually
stimulating, and on completion, guests feel a sense of privilege at
having widened their horizons while learning some of the planet’s
intimate secrets, which will remain embedded in the memory for a
lifetime.
Once discovered never forgotten. Dream - Explore - Discover

Cape York and
Arnhem
Land
Across the Top of Australia
“I just wanted to tell you what a fantastic time I had
travelling along the beautiful coast of the Top End,
Darwin and Cairns.
It was one of my ‘bucket list wishes’ to stand on
the tip of Australia. I am so glad I chose the small
ship experience with your company, as this gave
me a wonderful overview of Arnhem Land, the
islands and the coast.
This was my third trip with Coral Princess Cruises
and I look forward to number four in the not too
distant future.”

11 and 12 Night Expedition Cruises
11 Nights Cairns to Darwin
12 Nights Darwin to Cairns
We invite you to join us on our Cape York and Arnhem Land cruise, a
remarkable 11 or 12 night expedition combining the very best of the
remote Northern Australian coastline including the World Heritage-listed
Great Barrier Reef, Cape York Peninsula, Arnhem Land, the Cobourg
Peninsula and Tiwi Islands.
Cruise in unrivalled style and total comfort aboard the award-winning
Coral Princess or the state-of-the-art flagship Oceanic Discoverer.
Both small-ships feature the facilities and amenities you have come
to expect from much larger vessels, yet allow access to spectacular
landscapes inaccessible to bigger ships. Experience the friendly and
attentive service of our all-Australian staff and enjoy the finest of local
dining as you explore the many natural highlights, stunning landscapes
and ancient cultures of this seldom visited part of Australia.
Our journey follows in the wake of Captain James Cook’s voyage
of discovery into the communities and cultures of the peoples of
this remarkable coast almost 250 years ago. Like Cook, you will be
enchanted by the rugged beauty of these landscapes and the unique
ways of the Aboriginal, Torres Strait and Tiwi people who call them
home.

Darwin to Broome
Broome to Darwin
“I wish to send my thanks to Captain Gary and the crew
of Oceanic Discoverer for a most enjoyable 10 nights on
the recent trip from Darwin to Broome.
The crew did a fantastic job looking after us and showing
us the scenic beauty of the Kimberley coast. The talks
and information given on the excursions by the Guest
Lecturers, Sandy and Jamie, added to our enjoyment
and understanding of the area. A particular thanks to
Sandy for the copy of his diary – a much more detailed
account than those of the travellers, I am sure. We
enjoyed the trip immensely and are now telling all our
friends that they should go on this cruise!!!”

The region known simply as The Kimberley takes its evocative name

gorges, wide savannah plains and plunging waterfalls which defy both
nature and belief. This is a land steeped in ancient Aboriginal culture
and the legends of our pioneering past.
Covering more than 400,000 square kilometres (an area three times
larger than England) in North West Australia, yet home to just 30,000
people, it is a place universally acknowledged as one of the world’s last
- and possibly most beautiful wilderness areas.
Travel ashore to view the world’s oldest known indigenous art, the
mysterious Bradshaw (Gwion) Paintings and soak up the history
of early explorers such as Phillip Parker King who first charted this
spectacular coastline almost 200 years ago. Experience the heartland
of Australia’s northernmost unspoilt outback. The Kimberley is a
completely unique experience.
The Kimberley yields images to fill the frames of a lifetime. It is a place

Terms and Conditions
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please read these Cruise Ticket Conditions carefully. All bookings and travel
with Coral Princess Cruises are subject to these Cruise Ticket Conditions which effect your legal rights
and are binding on you.
1. RESERVATIONS: To make a reservation you have to complete the attached Reservation Form and
pay a deposit of 10% of the fare within 7 days of booking. The balance of the fare is due sixty (60)
days prior to departure. All prices are quoted in Australian dollars.
2. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY: Notification of cancellation must be received in
writing. At the time we receive your cancellation the following penalties will apply:
• More than 60 days prior to departure - forfeit the 10% non-refundable deposit
• 30 - 59 days prior to departure - forfeit 50% of the relevant fare
• No-show to 29 days prior to departure - forfeit 100% of the relevant fare
Coral Princess Cruises considers a date or name change to be a cancellation of the original
booking.
A $200 per person fee will be charged for any amendments not requiring a date or name change
after booking is confirmed.
3. TRIP CANCELLATION AND INTERRUPTION INSURANCE: We strongly recommend that
all passengers purchase cruise cancellation and interruption insurance as protection against any
circumstance which may force you to cancel or leave an expedition whilst it is in progress. This
insurance should include coverage for Remote Area Evacuation and provide coverage for all events
that may result in cancellation as we are unable to waive cancellation fees for any reason.
4. SHARE POLICY: Accommodation on the Ship is based on twin share occupancy. If you are
travelling alone and wish to share accommodation, a room mate will be assigned to your cabin
whenever possible. When pairing room mates we always pair participants of the same sex. If it is not
possible to pair you with a room mate you may be asked to pay the Sole Use fare.
5. CONTRACT: Upon payment of the fare for the Cruise and the confirmation of the booking by us or
our authorised travel agent a Contract is concluded between us (the carrier) and you (the passenger)
concerning the Cruise in terms of these Cruise Ticket Conditions.
6. INTERPRETATION: In these Cruise Ticket Conditions:• “brochure” means this brochure and any other promotional material published by the Carrier with
reference to the Cruise.
• “carrier” means and includes Coral Princess Cruises, the Ship, the Ship’s owners, operators,
managers, charterers, agents, sub-contractors and employees.
• “Coral Princess Cruises” means Coral Princess Cruises (NQ) Pty Ltd (A.C.N. 010 908 417) of
PO Box 2093, Cairns, Queensland, Australia.
• “Cruise” means the passage agreed to be undertaken by the carrier in the Contract.
• “passenger” means each person purchasing or accepting the Contract entitled to board the ship
for the Cruise.
• “Queensland” means the State of Queensland in the Commonwealth of Australia.
• “the Ship” means the Cruise Ship used by the carrier to conduct the Cruise.
• “Unexpected Event” means any act, circumstance or event beyond the control of the carrier
caused or arising from but not limited to acts of God, public enemies, government restraint, riots,
strikes, lockouts, labour troubles, epidemic, civil disturbances, perils of the sea, harbours, rivers or
other navigable waters, fuel shortages or abrupt and unexpected increases in fuel costs, collisions,
stranding, fire, lightning, storm, rough and adverse sea conditions, tidal waves, cyclones, attack
by wild animals, theft, barratry or any other crime by any person, faults or errors of navigation
or management of the Ship or any other vessel, explosions, breakage of shafts or any defect or
unseaworthiness in hull, machinery or appurtenances, equipment, furnishings or supplies of the
Ship or launches or vehicles or any defect of the carrier’s premises, fault or neglect of pilots, tugs,
crew, agents or independent contractors, port closures, delays in allocation and permits to berth
the Ship at ports on arrival and seizure of the Vessel under legal process.
7. BROCHURE: Where this brochure contains particulars of our conditions or policy about
reservation procedures, bookings, cancellations, refunds of fares and itineraries for the Cruise then
it forms part of these Cruise Ticket Conditions and if there is any inconsistency these Cruise Ticket
Conditions shall prevail.
8. NON-TRANSFERABLE: Passengers do not have the right to transfer their rights and obligations
under these Cruise Ticket Conditions. The fare paid shall not be refundable except as permitted in
these Cruise Ticket Conditions and the carrier will not be liable to make any refund to the passenger
if the passenger fails to embark on the Ship for the Cruise.
9. CRUISE CHANGES, DELAYS OR CANCELLATIONS: The carrier will endeavour to follow the
Cruise itinerary as described in the brochure and the passenger accepts that the carrier has the right to
change the itinerary, the Ship or cancel the Cruise as a result of some Unexpected Event or prevailing
inclement weather conditions and the passenger accepts that the passenger will not be entitled to any
compensation or a refund of the fare paid should this occur.
If the carrier cancels the Cruise for any other reason the carrier will refund the fare paid and if the
departure of a Cruise is delayed or if the Cruise itinerary is shortened for any other reason the carrier
will refund part of the fare paid on a pro rata basis to allow for the time lost. So far as these Cruise
Ticket Conditions constitute a contract for the supply of services then and in no event shall the
liability of the carrier to the passenger for a breach of an express or implied condition or warranty in
that respect exceed, at the election of the carrier:
• an obligation on the part of the carrier to supply the services again, or;
• the refund or payment to the passenger of an amount equal to the fare paid by the passenger for
the Cruise.
10. PASSENGER HEALTH AND RESPONSIBILITY: The passenger admits a full understanding of the
nature and character of the Ship and the scope of the activities contemplated by the passenger during
the Cruise (including those relating to off Ship activities such as excursions in the Ship’s tenders and
snorkelling) and assures and undertakes to the carrier:• that they are in good health and well able to undertake the Cruise and the contemplated
activities;
• that they will effect travel insurance sufficient to cover any limitation of liability against them
imposed by these Cruise Ticket Conditions should they wish to do so;
• that they accept the risk that they may suffer from sea sickness;
• that they have disclosed any physical or mental disability requiring special attention (including
the use of a wheelchair) or treatment at the time when the reservation for the Cruise was made;
• no passenger will be permitted to embark or continue on a cruise while their mental or physical
condition is, in the opinion of any representative of the carrier, such as to render them incapable
of caring for themselves, or whereby they become objectionable to other passengers, or they
become a hazard to themselves or others. The carrier will not be responsible for expenses
resulting in such persons being precluded from completing the cruise.
• that the passenger accepts that a medical certificate certifying fitness for travel may be required
at the carrier’s request and if any passenger has had surgery less than twelve (12) months prior to
sailing that passenger must submit a letter from a qualified physician stating that he or she is fit to
travel and the carrier reserves the right to deny passage if a passenger requires care and attention
which the carrier cannot adequately provide and this decision may be made by the carrier in its
sole discretion;
• the carrier reserves the right to refuse or deny participation in activities or programmes either
aboard the Ship or off Ship which are sponsored or promoted by the carrier to any passenger who
has a past or present medical condition that may present risks if the passenger participates in those
activities and any decision in this respect may be made by the carrier in its sole discretion;
• any charges incurred by passengers for medical reasons including but not limited to physicians,
surgeons, hospitals, off Ship accommodation, medication, diagnostic facilities, air ambulance
evacuation or ground ambulance shall be the sole responsibility of the passenger;
• for the safety and comfort of passengers smoking is not permitted in the Ship except on open deck
spaces outside all air-conditioned and sealed areas of the Ship;
• and the passenger agrees to indemnify the carrier from and against all claims, costs, charges, fines
or penalties arising as a result of any claim made against the carrier in this respect.
11. LIMITATION OF CARRIER’S LIABILITY: The liability of the carrier to the passenger is limited
with respect to both personal injury and damage to loss of property to the full extent permitted by law
and in terms of these Cruise Ticket Conditions.
The carrier accepts no responsibility or liability to the passenger for loss, death, or delay of, or injury
to any passenger or loss, damage or delay to a passenger’s baggage, personal effects or other property
arising from or caused by an Unexpected Event.
These Cruise Ticket Conditions remain in effect for all periods when the carrier is under any
responsibility to the passenger or the passenger’s property. No variation or waiver of any term
or condition of these Cruise Ticket Conditions will have any effect unless they are in writing and
signed by the carrier. No undertaking, guarantee or warranty is given or shall be implied as to the
seaworthiness, fitness or condition of the Ship.
In addition to any other limitation of liability contained in these Cruise Ticket Conditions the carrier
shall have the benefit of any statutory limitation of liability available in Queensland including but not
limited to the Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims Act 1989 (Cwth).
This brochure contains tours and services of operators other than the carrier e.g. tour operators
and hoteliers, which are not under the direct control of the carrier, and whilst the carrier takes
all reasonable care in selecting these operators, it cannot accept responsibility for those operators’
conduct or the conduct of their representative employees or agents or for any ramifications of
that conduct.
12. PASSENGER BAGGAGE: All baggage brought on board the Ship by a passenger remains in the
possession and control of the passenger during the Cruise and must be stored and kept in the cabin
allocated to the passenger.
The carrier has made recommendations with respect to baggage in the brochure. Baggage should
be prominently marked with the name and address of the passenger. The passenger must not bring
on board the Ship in baggage or otherwise any dangerous or inflammable substance including any
prohibited drug or non-prescribed drug. Liquor laws prohibit passengers from bringing supplies of
alcohol or liquor on board the Ship.
Baggage remaining unclaimed on arrival of the Ship will be stored at the passenger’s sole risk and
expense. The carrier is not responsible for money, jewellery, documents and any other valuables
which passengers keep on their person, in their cabins or in their baggage and the carrier strongly
recommends that passengers obtain adequate insurance to cover any loss or damage in this respect.
In no event will the carrier’s responsibility or liability to the passenger for loss of baggage or personal
effects exceed $100.00 and the passenger agrees to indemnify and keep indemnified the carrier from
and against any claims made against the carrier in excess of this amount in this respect.
13. RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES: The carrier will not be liable to passengers for any injuries or
damage which occur while the passenger is participating in recreational activities aboard the Vessel
or otherwise including but not limited to the passenger participating in snorkelling programmes. By
utilising thesefacilities passengers agree to assume all risks associated with those activities and fully
release and discharge the carrier from any and all claims, demands, damages, causes of action, present
or future, resulting from or arising out of the passenger’s use of or participation in those facilities. The
passenger may be required to sign a release or waiver prior to undertaking these activities and the
carrier will be entitled to refuse to allow the passenger to participate in those activities if the waiver
or release is not signed by the passenger prior to participation in those activities.
14. APPLICABLE LAW: Should any provision of these Cruise Ticket Conditions be contrary to or
invalid by virtue of the laws of Queensland or the Commonwealth of Australia or for any other reason
the relevant provision will be deemed to be severed from these Cruise Ticket Conditions and shall be
of no effect but all remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
These Cruise Ticket Conditions shall be governed in all respects by the laws of Queensland and the
passenger agrees that any claims or disputes between the passenger and the carrier in connection
with these Cruise Ticket Conditions shall be commenced, filed and litigated before a Court of proper
jurisdiction in Queensland and if possible in the City of Townsville.
15. WHAT TO EXPECT: For most activities a relatively low level of exertion is required. You will
need to climb into and out of zodiacs for excursions ashore: there will be staff and crew members on
hand to assist. Ashore, you must be able to walk moderate distances over sometimes rough terrain. A
complete list of recommended clothing and a suggested reading list will be mailed to you.
