Reading: ELACC RI.2.8 Describe how
reasons support specific points the
author makes in a text.
ELA: W.6 use digital tools to produce,
publish writing, collaborating with peers
Math: Week 3: MD.1 MD.2 MD.3with the
main focus on MD.9 line plots.
Social Studies: Economics: Scarcity
and Opportunity choice.
CES Relay for Life Team
Relay for Life is a nationwide event that raises money for cancer
research.
HAT DAY for $1.00
Wear a hat on March 12, 20, or 27th for $1.00/day
SMENCILS for $1.00
The Garden Club/TAG Team is raising money for our CES Relay for Life
Team. We are selling SMENCILS in the morning for $1.00 each. Smencils
are scented pencils that are made from 100% recycled newspapers.
Each smencil is a No.2 pencil and is packaged in its own recyclable plastic
freshness tube that includes a collectible character top cap!

OPPORTUNITY COST: When you have to make an economic choice because of limited resources
I went skating instead of bowling. Bowling is the opportunity cost, the one I did NOT choose.
SCARCITY: Limited amount of resources (time or money). Not being able to meet all the wants at
the same time.
ALLOCATING: Different ways of getting goods and services to people.
GOODS: Something people want that you can hold – Paper, pencil, desk, chair.
SERVICES: Something people do for other people.
BENEFITS: A way something is good for you. Saving your money to buy a bike. The benefit is the
amount of money you saved.
