Authors’ Biography Dr. Ahmad Bello Dogarawa Dr. Ahmad Bello Dogarawa is a tenured lecturer with the Department of Accounting, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He received his B.Sc. in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; Master of Banking and Finance (MBF) from Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria; and M.Sc. Accounting and Finance, and Ph.D. Accounting and Finance from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. His area of interest is banking, entrepreneurship and Islamic finance. He has to his credit 15 papers published in refereed academic journals and has presented over 20 papers at local and international conferences. Dr. Dogarawa supervised five M.Sc. theses and is currently supervising a good number of M.Sc. theses and Ph.D. dissertations. He is on the editorial board of Journal of Accounting Research, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; Vocational Business Educator, Faculty of Education, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; and the Green Oasis magazine Islamic Economics. Dr. Dogarawa has travelled throughout Nigeria and some neighbouring countries to present papers and give sensitisation lectures on various topical issues particularly Islamic banking and finance, and Islamic perspective of economic empowerment, investment and poverty eradication. He presents a number of religious programmes on television and serves as a resource person to many financial and education consultants. He has published five Islamic books and is currently working on three other books. Adebiyi Jelili Adegboyega Adebiyi Jelili Adegboyega is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering, who exhibited extensive interest in Islamic studies that qualified him to deservingly earn M.A in History and Civilization. He has some articles and books to his credit. He is now a graduate student at Iowa State University. Eko Suprayitno Eko Suprayitno, SE., M.Sc, is a lecturer at Faculty of Economics, State Islamic University Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang (UIN Maliki Malang) since 1999. He lectured Macroeconomics I, Islamic Macroeconomics, Macroeconomics II. In 2005, He is also lectured Statistics and Indonesian Economics. Year 2008, He is became a Tutor and part time lecturer at Faculty of Economics and Administration of the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Eko Suprayitno received his BA in Economics Science and Development from University of Muhammadiyah Malang in 1999, and M.Sc in Economics Science and Development from the University of Gadjah Mada Yogyakart in 2004. He is now is currently enrolled as a Phd candidate with Faculty of Economics and Administration, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His research is on Islamic Finance. The research will be a comparative study of Impact zakat on Macroeconomics variables in Indonesia and Malaysia. He is published a book Ekonomi Makro : Perbandingan Ekonomi Islam dan Konvensional (Grha Ilmu, 2005), Pengantar Ekonomi Mikro : Pendekatan Ekonomi Islam (UIN Press, 2008). He is also published article in Jurnal Iqtishoduna, Jurnal Ulul Albab and intend to present a paper in many International seminar and confenrence. Lasted a paper presented at the International Conference on Strengthening the Moslem Community in the South – East Asia Region Toward ASEAN Community 2015, organized by the Directorate of Postgraduate Program, University of Muhammadiyah Malang, 2012. Radiah Abdul Kader Radiah Abdul Kader holds a PhD in Islamic Finance from the University of Durham United Kingdom. She obtained her Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Malaya and her Master of Science (Economics) degree from the University of Salford United Kingdom. She is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Administration, University of Malaya Kuala Lumpur. Her research interests are Islamic banking, sukuk, zakat and entrepreneurship. Azhar Harun Azhar Harun is an Associate Professor at the College of Law, Government and International Studies, Universiti Utara Malaysia. He obtained his B. Ec. (Economics) from overseas and a M. Soc. Sc. (Economics) degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia. He received his Ph.D. degree economy in agriculture and natural resources from the Authors Biography 127 National University of Malaysia in January 2001. Md. Mahabbat Hossain Md. Mahabbat Hossain is a faculty member of Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM). He is also performing duties as a program officer of Evening Master in Bank Management (EMBM) Program. Additionally, he is to work as an internal auditor of BIBM. He did BBA and MBA in Accounting from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He is a PhD candidate in Accounting at University of Rajshahi. By this time he gathered more than six years teaching experience in graduation level. He has professional training on different areas like, Foundation Training Course for the Bank Officials, Training of Trainers, Empirical Research Methodology, Communicative English, etc. He is to coordinate training courses and workshops designed for the senior and mid-level bank executives and conduct sessions in these training courses and workshops. Besides, he takes classes in the Masters in Bank Management (MBM) and Evening Masters in Bank Management (EMBM) Program. As a part of job currently he is doing research in different areas. He has published in national and international academic and professional journals including The Journal of Nepalese Business Studies, BANK PARIKRAMA, Journal of Human Resource Costing and Accounting, The Bangladesh Accountant, The Cost and Management, PROSHIKHYAN, BUBT Journal, 4A Journal, Thoughts on Economics, etc. Moreover, he has presented papers in the research and review workshops organized by BIBM. She has professional experiences on Finance and Banking. She did her BBA in Finance and Banking and MBA in Finance from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She has involved in coordination of different training courses and workshops organized by BIBM. Conducting classes for top and mid- level bank executives in training programs, for students in Masters in Bank Management [MBM] Program and Evening Masters in Bank Management [EMBM] Program. Her related areas for conducting classes are credit appraisal and management, agricultural and rural banking, asset and liability management, entrepreneurship development and SME Business, financial analysis for bankers, financing agro based business, green banking, investment and merchant Banking, micro and small enterprise financing, structured finance, security analysis and portfolio management, leasing and venture financing, corporate governance and corporate social responsibilities of banks, environmental responsibilities of banks etc. Along with these, she is involved with different research activities. Like ‘An Impact Evaluation of Green Initiatives of Bangladesh Bank’ and ‘Bankruptcy Prediction by using the Altman Z-score Model: A study on Pharmaceutical Industry in Bangladesh’, published in Bank Parikrama, a journal of banking and finance of BIBM in 2011. Besides the regular jobs she is to work as an internal auditor of BIBM. By this time she gathered more than five years teaching experience in graduation level. Mr. Noman H Chowdhury Mr. Noman H Chowdhury is Senior System Analyst at Millennium Information Solution Limited (MISL), the largest islamic banking solution provider in Bangladesh. He holds BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), and persuaded his MBA in Finance from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka University. Mr. Noman is highly experienced in system and business analysis in different domains including ICT, Telecommunication, Educational industry etc while working at Grameen Phone Limited, Nokia Siemens Network, BIPL etc. In 2010, he completed Authors Biography 129 Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Banking and Insurance from Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance (IIBI),UK. Since then, he is focused in system analysis and solution design for Islamic banking operations and management. His contributions in current role include designing of modules for Treasury Management, Sukuk, Tawarruq etc for ‘Ababil’ which is MISL’s flagship solution for Islamic banking. Mr Noman was also engaged in lecturing in Islamic Banking while serving at Bangladesh Institute of Management Studies (BiMS) as Senior Faculty from 2009 to 2011. S.M. Arifuzzaman S.M. Arifuzzaman is the Financial Consultant of IIBAsia, an emerging business consulting firm in Bangladesh. He is also the co-founder of the organization. His academic position is Assistant Professor, Department of Finance, Faculty of Business Administration, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). Before that, He was the Lecturer in the School of Business, International University Bangladesh (IUB). Previously he worked in the department of computer science of two universities-City University and Sylhet International University. He is also an adjunct faculty member of different private universities including North South University (NSU), South East University etc. Mr. Arif is also an active instructor in the professional arena like Bangladesh Institution of Administration & Management (BIAM) where he teaches Managerial Accounting for the top ranked employees of the different Govt. sectors. Arifuzzaman has completed his Masters’ in finance from ESCP Europe, Paris, the first business school of the world. He also holds an MBA in Management of Technology from School of Management, Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. His bachelor was from the prestigious department of Computer Science & Engineering, BUET. Last year he has earned Post Graduate Diploma in Management Consultancy from IMCB. His research focuses on various issues of accounting and finance and MIS in emerging economies specifically capital market, corporate disclosure, software export etc. He has already published research papers related to Finance, MIS, accounting and business management in various referred local and international journals and some of his research works are under work in process. Manzoor K.P 130 Journal of Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance, Vol. 9 No. 1, Jan - Mar 2013 Manzoor K.P holds Master’s Degree in Applied Economics from School of Development Studies, Kannur University Thalassery Campus, Kerala India. He is currently, working as the Vice Principal at Airocis College of Aviation and Management Studies, Kannur, Kerala. Before joining Airocis, he has served as a Lecturer in Economics for Irshadiya College, Calicut, Kerala. Besides these, he worked as the Principal at Mount Flower English School, Kannur, as a Guest Faculty at Institute of Cooperative Management, Kannur and as a Research Associate for Icfai Research Centre, Bangalor .
