I am very excited that RAB has teamed up with some local area high
schools and started a mentorship program. We are looking for at least
40 mentors to represent has many RAB trades and professions as we
can to mentor a student. This is great way to expose local area teens to
opportunities that are waiting for them right here in Rochester and the
surrounding communities. If you would like to mentor a student please
sign up!
The new CTECH program started this fall at the RCTC Heintz Center.
They are expecting to serve over 400 students each year with some of the
programs focusing on engineering, agriculture and construction. These
programs will allow high school students to get hands on experience and
exposure to these areas and hopefully help fill the gap for employers who
are in need of qualified employees within the trades.
Don’t forget you still have time to sign up for the 2016 Home Show.
There are a limited number of booths available. This is a fantastic way
to get exposure to thousands of potential customers.

What changes are on the horizon in your
industry?
Technology in the alarm system industry has
changed drastically in the last few years.
Cameras and video surveillance have
become more popular, along with smart
home services. For example, you can now
connect your smart home devices so that
when you unlock your door, your system
will disarm and your lights will turn on. There
are apps for your smartphone where you
can control and view your system status,
monitor activity, watch live high-definition
video, arm or disarm your system, set up user
codes, and control your thermostat.
What changes are on the horizon for your
business?
We are moving towards cloud management
of systems and off-site video storage. Also,
more and more home services are being
connected through our alarm systems.

We want to be involved in the communities
we protect and work with builders to set
up smart home security systems and home
