MSD Martinsville Schools Job Position Title:Network Administrative Assistant Department: Technology Reports to: e-Learning Director Salary: $36,000 Job Summary Helps to monitor and maintain the computing environment by designing, implementing, and supporting the network infrastructure for MSD Martinsville Schools. Responsibilities Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems. Install and maintain network hardware and software. Experience running, maintaining, and implementing Microsoft Active directory Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users. Evaluate and modify system's performance. Determine network and system requirements for various hardware and software used in the school district. Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security. Ensure network connectivity throughout the townships LAN/WAN infrastructure. Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches. Installs and tests server software on a variety of platforms (e.g. service packs, application software, operating software, hardware upgrades, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining District WAN/LAN and telecommunication systems. Researches trends, products, equipment, tests, etc. for the purpose of recommending procedures and/or purchases. Assist with website and assistive technology development Continue with professional development and stay current with changing technology Ensure the web server's, hardware and software are operating accurately. Generate and revise web pages. Examine and analyze site traffic. Utilize scripting languages such as Javascript and html. Regulate and manage access rights of different users on website. Create and modify appearance and setting of site including the layout of content on web pages. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred Extensive experience in network administration and architecture Knowledge of email systems (Exchange/Google) Knowledge of security and anti-virus software Demonstrated ability to design and maintain server data security and server backup strategies Ability to handle confidential information with complete discretion Ability to effectively problem solve, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional service to all users Other Functions Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Serves as an information resource for the IT department to schools, businesses, and the community for the purpose of actively working to build healthy partnerships throughout the district to better serve our customers in meeting their business objectives.
