AdvancedMarineBiology Spring2015 BSC4313C Instructor: Credits: 4 Dr. Susan Bell Meeting times and location: Lecture/Discussion: Tuesday 11-1:45 SCA 202 Laboratory/Field: Friday 12-4 ISA 3070 This class builds upon information presented in BSC 3312 Marine Biology (this is a prerequisite). By combining lecture and group discussions and projects with a field and lab experience, students will explore a variety of contemporary topics in marine biology. The course will introduce students to modern research methods and focus on biota from local, nearshore environments. Readings from the scientific literature will be used to augment lecture presentations and help design and execute student projects. Grading will be based upon written assignments, class participation and laboratory performance.
