Michael brings over 18 years of
nursing and EMS experience. He
has worked in a variety of clinical settings that
range from emergency nursing and primary care
to a Level I Trauma Center and includes ground
and air medical transport. Michael received his
MSN from Vanderbilt University where he focused
on emergency and trauma care as an Acute Care
Nurse Practitioner and also completed his
Post-Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner at
Vanderbilt. He has presented on numerous topics
across North America and serves as an instructor
for many certifications courses. Michael has
completed over 1,300 patient transports during his
tenure with Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s
LifeFlight. He practices as an Emergency Nurse
Practitioner with TeamHealth at Maury Regional
Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee. He is also
faculty with Vanderbilt University’s School of
Nursing’s Acute Care and Emergency Nurse
Practitioner programs. As a past member of TN-1
DMAT (Disaster Medical Assistance Team), a part
of the National Disaster Medical Systems, Michael
has been involved in disaster relief efforts on
several levels including Hurricanes Katrina and
Rita.

This certification review course is designed to be
review for the Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), the
Certified Flight Nurse (CFRN) and the Certified
Transport Nurse (CTRN) exam. This 3 day course
covers the important elements to prepare someone
for the Critical Care Paramedic (CC-P) and Flight
Paramedic (FP-C) Exams also. The content is based
on core concepts outlined on each of the test
blueprints. Participants will gain knowledge on the
test structure, content and study plan at completion
of this course.
 Participants reviewing for the CEN exam should
attend days 1 and 2.
 Participants reviewing for the CFRN and CTRN
exam will should attend ALL 3 days.
 Participants reviewing for the CC-P and the FP-C
exam should attend ALL 3 days.
 (Participants wanting the material that is
different between the CEN and the CFRN/CTRN
should attend day 3.)
