Located at 153 S. 2nd Avenue Yuma, AZ By David McHone W.M. Brethren, This year really went by fast. As I start to type my article this morning (past the deadline, again), I looked over at the calendar and realized that in three days we will be electing the 2016 Officer line. And reflecting on the last 10 months, I can say that I am happy to be a part of this Lodge. I feel like there are quite a few things that were successes this year, and a couple that I never got done. But without Mike White, I am not sure that I could say that. Although he wears more hats than most in our Lodge, he always had my back. And on those nights weeks when I just couldn't get something organized, there he was making sure everything went off seamlessly and without a hitch. I want to thank the whole officer Deadline for Trestleboard items is December 10th Tim Williams PM. Editor line, and especial Mike White for supporting me this last year. We have more degree work this year so we should stay busy through this month. Come out and see what we have going on. Time is going by faster than you think. If there is something you want to do don't wait. Life is far shorter than some my think . There is much for all to get done in this life .We can always use help with the work in Lodge. You do not have to be a Lodge officer to do the work all are welcome. Volume 15, Issue 06 November / December Page 7 A MESSAGE FROM OUR BROTHER CHAPLIN Dear Brothers Let us talk about the desire to be a Mason or to improve our life in masonry. We live in a world with naturally encounter a wide assortment of appealing sense of object : sights and sounds, taste, sensations, interesting thoughs and ideas. Desire arises from contact with these pleasing objects, and these desire can range from obsessive passion addictive craving to a simple passing wish for something. All of these gradation of feeling are the expressions of the wanting mind. It is important to distinguish here between the desire of wanting associated with greed and the desire or motivation, which can be joined with either wholesome or unwholesome factors. In English we use the same word for these very different mind state. Obviously there are various meanings of desire. We as a Masons should pursue the energy of motivation to accomplish something, in this case associated with faith, wisdom, and compassion.
