5th Grade Student Council Speech Ian Kriger Hi Everyone, My name is Ian Kriger. I’m running for Student Council this year and I am here to ask you for your vote. The way I see it, as a member of the Student Council I will act as your voice to the school and have four main duties: 1. Be a good listener and communicator 2. Promote school spirit through kids helping kids 3. Represent the students in our homeroom by getting to know your thoughts and ideas 4. Report information from the Council meetings back to our homeroom A few of the ways I plan to meet these duties are: 1. Being open and honest at all times. 2. I’ll work my head off trying to help the school improve as well as the community itself by taking my duties as a Student Council member very seriously. 3. Publishing my Blog site on the internet to everyone as a way of both communicating my thoughts and ideas, as well as listening to yours. By the way, my Blog site is located at http://iankriger.blogspot.com 4. Ask everyone to let me know your thoughts and ideas, whether it be by telling me before class, at recess or even by sending me an email at iankriger@gmail.com The slogan for my election campaign is “A VOTE FOR “I” IS A VOTE FOR “U”. And as a representative of our homeroom I come out for bringing new energy and new enthusiasm to the Student Council. Student Council is a very serious position and I like to think I have the zeal and bring an innovative new approach to old things. Furthermore, I am ready to work with gusto for your benefit. If you empower me with your confidence, I will do everything but the impossible to represent your interests and achieve our common goals and ideals. I am sure that our goals are similar - we are all here to obtain education that will teach us how to make the world a slightly better place. If you empower me with your trust, we will start from solving local problems and making our school a better place. Bottom line, Francis Wyman is a really cool school and I like being part of it. This is why I am running for Student Council. I believe I have the ability, passion and know how to make Francis Wyman an even cooler school. But, I can only do this with your help. By voting for me, you’ll get a dedicated person who is serious about making a difference. Vote for me and I’ll try my best at all times to make Francis Wyman tops on the coolness factor. Don’t forget to check out my blog. I’ve already posted the transcript of my speech and initial thoughts on running for Student Council last night. And, don’t hesitate to contact me directly either in school or send me an email. I always make every attempt to reply. Please remember “A VOTE FOR “I” IS A VOTE FOR “U”. Thank you all for your attention and time.
