The Durban University of Technology seeks to appoint an innovative, creative and experienced management leader and team-player, someone ready to create a new, first-rate higher educational environment for students and staff alike. As Campus Director, you will take charge of the two Midlands Campuses - Indumiso and Riverside – which in total host approximately 4 000 students.
Bring your Masters degree, or even better your PhD, together with your 5-years plus experience of working at a senior, strategic level in a higher education institution, which includes facilities management. Bring your proven experience in directing multi-departmental activities in a multi-cultural environment, as well as your astute understanding of policy and legislative frameworks in this sector.

In tandem with an unprecedented drive to position our institution as a full University, we seek a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to join our Senior Executive
Team – a mandate reporting to the Risk Committee of the University.
We’re calling on your expertise to research, design and develop risk management policy, methodology and strategy. This requires the development and implementation of a fully integrated risk management framework and the embedding of sound risk management practices and monitoring of protocols throughout the University.
You’ve achieved a NQF level 8 qualification in Risk Management, or similar. Status as a Chartered Accountant and/or Certified Internal Auditor would prove a distinct advantage, but is not essential. Bring your 5-10 years relevant experience gained in the Higher Education sector, together with your thorough understanding of corporate governance (King III), business and operational risk management (ISO 31000 and/or COSO standards), Information Technology (Barn Owl, Cura or similar), PFMA, treasury regulations and Higher Education legislation and you will be more than half way to joining an executive team determined to meet its mission.

Not only are you admired for your outstanding IT technical prowess, you are seen as a leader among leaders. Your strength lies in strategic infrastructure development and management, policy formulation and implementation, team and systems management, resource management and connectivity with industry, as well as the outstanding internal customer advice and support service you are known to provide.
Primary consideration and/or preference will be given to applicants with a Master's degree (M+5) in an IT/Computer Science related field together with 11 – 14 years experience in information and communication technology field, at least 5 years of which must include strategic management experience. Education experience is preferred, but is not essential. Applicants holding a Bachelor degree or diploma relevant to large scale IT and at least 15 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years experience at a strategic management level, will also be considered. However, an M+5 qualification is our primary consideration, after which a Bachelors' degree and required experience will be considered, followed by applicants holding a diploma and the required experience being considered. In all instances, proven strategic-level IT leadership of no less than 5 years stands as an essential prerequisite, as does proven ability in the disciplines of financial, procurement and team-driven management.

Known as an effective supplier of services to executives, academics and students, you have the confidence and business presence to interface with Council,
Senate, The Department of Education, Council for Higher Education and other similar HE bodies.
Come and showcase this positive mental attitude, ability and aptitude, along with a closely related M+6 qualification and your 10 plus years' experience in the
Higher Education arena, of which at least five years will have been in teaching and at least two years in a similarly senior post. A key focus throughout your career has been research – something that is readily proven. You have an astute knowledge of Higher Education in terms of acts, statutes, rules, policies and procedures, SAQA and NQF. Past exposure has equipped you with sound business and commercial acumen and allowed you to develop extraordinary networks in industry and academic circles.
Take the lead in overseeing the design, development and implementation of a comprehensive set of research related policies, plans, procedures and systems designed to promote a research culture and develop the research capacity within our University – all of which align with our objectives, mission and vision.

The nerve centre of learning – the key source of information for student and academic alike - the fountain of knowledge. Reporting to a highly supportive DVC Academic Affairs, the Director Library Services will play a pivotal role going forward.
Your track record reflects the consummate leader of librarian services, you're project-minded, you're at the cutting edge of the latest trends and you have an indepth understanding of the tertiary communities you serve. With a master's degree in LIS and ten years relevant experience, with at least 5 years at a senior level, you are ready to make a significant and meaningful contribution to library serves, in line with the overall energy that DUT exudes. Exposure to Higher Education is ideally sought, but this is not essential – it's your proactive leadership, unfailing client delivery, continuous improvement strategy and being the right catalyst to seeing exponential change into the technological and digital age. You're a natural when it comes to giving presentations, delivering lectures, sourcing research information and preparing motivations. You represent balance when it comes to business and academic understanding.
