for campers to gain experiences that help them learn, grow, and
thrive. We strive to help each camper develop core values of Caring,
Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith.
Our Staff
The YMCA of the Chesapeake interviews and selects the most
qualified, experienced men and women in the community. Our staff
members are selected based on their maturity, skills, patience,
enthusiasm, and desire to be good role models for children. Each
staff attends training that concentrates on safety, group dynamics,
and character development.
Safety
In all activities, safety and approved instructional methods are
paramount. Activities are closely supervised and adhere to program
standards from the YMCA of the USA and the Maryland Department
of Health and Mental Hygiene. Camper safety continues to be our
number one priority. All staff are CPR and first aid certified.
