TexasAssociationforBehaviorAnalysis Directoryof Behavioral Consultants Prepared by DFW Area Autism SIG Revised November 2010 Directory of Behavioral Consultants This Directory of Behavioral Consultants is a product of the Autism Special Interest Groups of the Texas Association for Behavior Analysis. It is a collection of information regarding people who work as consultants for applied behavior analysis interventions for children with autism and other pervasive developmental disabilities. This information was obtained by soliciting entries from persons who describe themselves as functioning in that role. Invitations to provide this information were made in meetings of the Texas Association of Behavior Analysis (TxABA), at meetings of the TxABA Autism Special Interest Groups, and at other presentations related to use of applied behavior analysis with persons with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, plus persons known to be working as behavioral consultants were personally invited to provide information. The only restriction on inclusion was that the person or organization included in the entry have an ongoing base of operation in the region served by TxABA (i.e., Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and New Mexico). Some persons or agencies were invited to submit entries but did not do so. Persons or organizations based out‐of‐state but consulting in the TxABA region were not included. Information regarding contact persons or organizations in the latter category can be obtained from organizations such as the Families for Early Autism Treatment (FEAT), particularly their website. This directory provides the information as submitted after retyping for uniformity in format and ease of reading, without editing. The list is provided to people requesting information about persons who provide such services. Neither Texas Association for Behavior Analysis nor the DFW Area Autism Special Interest Group indicates endorsement or evaluation of persons included on the list. Entries are arranged alphabetically for each of the areas of Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas from which entries were received. Submission of additional entries is invited. Correspondence regarding this directory can be directed by postal mail to the TxABA office: TxABA 1155 Union Circle, #310919 Denton, TX, 76203‐5017 Or by e‐mail to: txaba@txaba.org -1- LOUISIANA: ALEXANDRIA AREA .......................................................................................................................... 3 Ellen Brocato, M.S., BCBA .......................................................................................................................................... 3 Kathy Chovanec, MA, BCBA, LPC, LMFT .................................................................................................................... 4 Janice Huber, BCBA .................................................................................................................................................. 5 OKLAHOMA ................................................................................................................................................................... 6 Autism Concepts, Inc. | Rita Chandler, Ph.D., BCBA ............................................................................................... 6 TEXAS: AUSTIN / CENTRAL TEXAS AREA ...................................................................................................................... 7 Autism Concepts, Inc. | E. Brad is 13 months older than me, a couple inches shorter than me, gets a twinkle in his blue eyes when he's up to something, and he sometimes cusses... even when he knows he shouldn't. He also has Tuberous Sclerosis and autism. I knew I wanted to be a Special Education teacher by the time I was 4 years old. According to my mom and dad, I was a second mother to Brad. But for me, I was just Brad's little sister, just like I was Caitlyn's big sister. Growing up together in Houston, TX, I loved teaching both of them how to be good (and sometimes a little bad) which is what any good sibling should do! And throughout high school and even today, I have remained an active participant in Brad's program, training and everyday life. It's my hope that Light Up the Spectrum will give me the opportunity to work with many more individuals and their families, doing what I love. - 24 - TEXAS: DALLAS / FT.
