 Classes are on a ten day cycle.
 Classes are fifty-five minutes in length.
 UAS uses a 4.3 GPA scale.
 GPA is calculated on credits earned on quarterly
basis and credit value and is not cumulative.
 GPA value for all grade 9-10 courses is SL only
 GPA calculations in grades 11-12 are weighted
because of the difference between Higher Level (HL)
and Standard Level (SL) courses
US High School Diploma
Requirements
 UAS seniors who have satisfied all
graduation requirements receive an
American High School Diploma in June
that is aligned with the US Common Core
Standards.
 Credit value for completed coursework
varies from 0.25, 0.5 and 1.0 credits,
depending on the hours of instruction.
Due to the transient nature of our school
population and the variety of educational
backgrounds our students bring with them,
UAS does not officially report class
rank.
