The Joyful Child Foundation presents radKIDS The Joyful Child Foundation invites you and your child to participate in a radKIDS-Personal Empowerment Safety Education Program offered at Canyon View Elementary School. R.A.D. means Resisting Aggression Defensively. RADKids are educated to recognize, avoid, resist, and if necessary escape violence. Classes include discussion, activities, and resistance techniques. It is a life skills program based on self value, self worth, and self esteem. Topics include home safety, school safety, vehicle safety, out & about safety, personal safety, and realistic physical defense skills. This class will be offered free of charge to children ages 8-12 only, Monday - Friday, Jan.31-Feb.4, from 3pm – 5pm (except for Wednesday, Feb.2, class will begin at 1:45pm and end at 3:45pm). Class is offered on a first come, first serve basis and is limited to the first 20 children registered. Parents can pre-register at the first parent meeting on January 20th, and parents must attend the Parent’s Companion to radKIDS class on January 27th in order to confirm registration and complete the necessary consent forms. In conclusion, interested parents should plan to attend both parent meetings as well as the radKIDS graduation class on Friday, February 4th from 3-5pm. Parents are more than welcome to attend each two hour radKIDS class, but it is not required. Children must participate in each day’s class in order to graduate.
