Clergy? Emergency Service Worker? Interested in Domestic Violence, Elder Abuse, or Child Abuse? If you answered, "Yes" to any of these, then this might be a day for you. Come join our Chaplain's in training as we bring the experts to you. National Center for Chaplain Development (NCCD) is opening up this special day as part of it's ongoing 45 hour Practical Chaplain Training Course. In 2009, in collaboration with The Joyful Child Foundation, founded by Erin Runnion, mother of abducted child Samantha Runnion and Steve Daley of radKids, a leader in Personal Empowerment Safety Education Program, National Center for Chaplain Development helped launch a national initiative working within communities to build a stronger andsafer world to ensure that Not One More Child suffers the pain and violence of predatory crime. Why is there a need for this? Crimes against children are of paramount concern to all citizens in all cities, suburbs, towns, and even in rural areas. We continually watch in horror as our nations children are abused, sexually assaulted, abducted and brutally harmed. Increasingly citizens, educators and law enforcement professionals realize that no one agency, no one group can independently eliminate crimes against children. In fact, it takes a community. Parents, neighbors and concerned citizens, working cooperatively with law enforcement, can have a positive effect but even then, it is impossible to have round the clock protection in place every minute of every day. In order to effectively defend against child predators, it is essential to include the child in the equation. Only then do you have a complete arsenal in the war against the child predator. Please consider setting aside this day to become educated regarding the issues.
