Mr. & Mrs. Downey
Cristina Loures Petrelli and Lucas
Timothy Downey were united in marriage on September 21, 2013. The Rev.
Thomas Collins, a Roman Catholic
priest, performed the ceremony at the
Church of Resurrection in Rye, N.Y.
The bride is the daughter of Susan
Conway Petrelli and Joseph James
Petrelli of Harrison, N.Y.
The groom is the son of Walter
Downey and Marilee Brown Watson.
He is the stepson of the late James P.
Watson of Denham Springs.
Mrs. Downey, 30, is known as Crista. She graduated from Greenwich
Academy in 2001 and Williams Col-

lege in 2005. She currently works at
Goldman Sachs in New York, where
she is a Vice President in Equity
Derivative Sales.
Mr. Downey, also 30, is known as
Luke. He is a 2001 graduate of Denham Springs High School. After
graduating from Louisiana State
University, Luke abandoned his
career in Personal Fitness. He then
moved to New York in 2006 to pursue
a career in finance. He is a Senior
Vice President in Equity Derivatives
at Jefferies LLC in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Downey have made
their home in New York.

currently residing in
Patuxent River, Md., are
pleased to announce their
engagement and forthcoming marriage. They
plan to wed in a 3 p.m.
ceremony on November
15, 2013, in Frederick,
Md.
The bride-elect is the
daughter of the Rev.
and Mrs. Curtis Eaby of
White Plains, Md. She
is the granddaughter of
the Rev. and Mrs. Robert
Eaby of White Plains,
Md., Marlene Beachy and
the late David Beachy
of Grantsville, Md. She
attended La Plata High,
College of Southern
Maryland and Liberty
University. She is employed as a school nurse
at Charles County Government Health Department.
The groom-elect is
the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Scott Martin of Denham Springs. He is the
grandson of Mr. and Mrs.
Mike Burnette of Baker,
Mr. Benny Martin of
Tylertown, Miss., and
Mrs. Maryann Martin of
Jayess, Miss. He attended
Denham Springs High
School and serves with
the United States Navy.

Lauren Long Pizzolato was honored at a baby shower at the home of
Jensen and Meg Williams of Denham Springs. The shower was held
October 6, 2013, with 15 guests in
attendance.
The event was hosted by Abby
O’Donoghue, Jensen Williams and
Meg Williams. They are lifelong
friends of the aunt-to-be, Jordan, and
hosted the shower in honor of her big
sister, Lauren, who has always been
like a sister to them.
Antique snack trays were used to
enjoy a variety of salad, sandwiches
and sweets. Tall and slender glass
vases belonging to the Williams
girls’ great-grandmother were filled
with alstroemeria pink flowers.
Special guests were Kathy Long,
grandmother-to-be, and Jordan
Long, aunt-to-be.

are pleased to announce the birth
of their daughter,
Jocelyn Elizabeth
Avila.
She was born
October 24, 2013,
at 6:48 a.m. at
Ochsner Medical
Center in Baton
Rouge.
She weighed six
pounds, 15 ounces
and was 19 and 3/4
inches long.
Grandparents are
Linda and James
Avila, Shawn
Sanders and Jason
Lebeau.
Baby Jocelyn was
welcomed home by
her grandparents;
aunts, Justine,
Summer and Angela; and cousins,
Erica, Linda and
James Avila.
