Welcome
Welcome to Hopwood Hall College Community Learning Spring 2015 newsletter. Here
at Hopwood Hall we offer a range of part-time courses for adults at a number of venues
across Rochdale, Middleton and Heywood.
Our courses are for people who want to develop and improve their own individual skills and abilities whether it’s in
preparation for employment, further education or your own personal interests. Details on all our current courses can
be found in this newsletter. The concession fee (CF Fee*) shown is subject to employment status and income based
benefits. All courses are subject to a £20 registration fee each year.
Please give us a call for further advice and guidance regarding any of the courses we have on offer and one of our
community staff will be more than happy to help.
Enrol online
You can now enrol and pay online for community learning courses. As long as you pay the full fee (ie. are not entitled
to concession) just visit our website www.hopwood.ac.uk, select the course from the part-time list and click Apply or
Enrol now at the bottom of the webpage. If you don’t have access to a computer you can still call in to see us or phone
0161 643 7560 to book your place.

This course is aimed at people looking to develop
practical skills to keep exotic animals.
Keeping exotic animals is an enjoyable and interesting hobby, however many
of these animals kept in the UK as pets are unhealthy or living in unsuitable
conditions. You will use a exotic animals from our Life Sciences Animal Unit to
develop your skills.

Hopwood Hall College
Explore and develop your creative skills
on our spring/summer flower arranging
design course. You’ll use a variety of
seasonal designs and new inspirations.
The course will cover:
• How to linear design in contemporary style. Ideal
for spring flowers on a kitchen window.

• Plant pots joined on a tray with bamboo twine.
• Two tiered design using gels in a transparent
glass vase, with opportunity for additional
placement ideal for weddings & parties.
