LIFE THOUGHTS – Many observe Sanctity of Human Life Sunday today. Isaiah 62:1-5 offers opportunity to speak to those crushed by an abortion decision in their past. It gives us names those burdened by such sin need to hear applied to them—“crown of beauty,” “royal diadem,” not “forsaken,” not “desolate, “my delight,” “married.” In short, regardless of our sin, in Christ God will “rejoice over you.” Prayer: May those whose repentant hearts feel so unworthy hear the worthy names God gives them in Jesus. Amen. Life Thoughts are based on the appointed readings from Lutheran Service Book. LIFE QUOTES - “The choice of life flows from trusting in our God who gave us life. This in turn flows from faith in God who has given us new life in Jesus. You may not be able to trust a god who says, ‘Choose Life or else.’ But you can most certainly trust in a God who says, ‘I chose to give My life for you.’” Rev. Dr. James I. Lamb, former executive director of Lutherans For Life – A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life • www.lutheransforlife.org STEWARDSHIP - John 2:3 “When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.”” Behold the faith of Mary: she sees a problem and simply lays it before her Son and Lord, “They have no wine.” She does not offer a proposed solution, she does not demand, she simply states her need and waits for the Lord's response. She trusts that the Lord is a giver and she knows that He always provides. May such a faith be ours!
