Learning and Teaching Seminar Series Session 2, 2010 Dr Jonathan Kress The University of New South Wales Maple TA in first year mathematics Maple TA is a system for creating and delivering online tests. It has much more sophisticated abilities for the random generation and grading of questions than other available online systems such as Blackboard’s built in assessment tools. It has been used for large classes in the School of Maths and Stats for several years and is currently in the process of being more closely integrated with the University’s central systems and is a part of UNSW’s TELT (Technology Enabled Learning and Teaching) platform. I will give an overview how it has been used in some of the School’s large first and second year courses and report on our experiences. Time: 4pm, Tuesday 20th July, 2010 Location: Room RC4082, Red Centre, UNSW 4pm, TUESDAY 20th July, 2010, RC 4082. Please join us after the seminar for wine and cheese in the staffroom.
