Official Rules
1. The "Grande Soirée Magique" contest is held by the Leclerc Group. ("Contest
Sponsor"). It is being held online, and runs from May 23, 2013, at noon (EST), to June
19, 2013, at 11:59 p.m. (EST) (hereinafter referred to as the "Contest Period"). Only
one UPC per day per valid account can be registered and each separate valid entry
must use a different UPC code.
ELIGIBILITY
2. This contest is open to all residents of Quebec who have reached the age of majority in
the province as of May 23, 2013. Excluded from eligibility are the corporation
sponsoring the contest, namely Leclerc Group., its employees, agents, representatives
and jury members, and close family members (mother, father, brother or sister) as well
as individuals with whom any of the aforementioned reside. Persons selected for a
prize agree to sign a declaration to that effect, which will be included in the
declaration and liability waiver. They must also state their address, occupation and
name of their employer on that form to confirm that they are not among those
excluded from participation in the Contest. Upon request, potential winners must show
valid photo identification to validate their name and address.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
3. i) Get en entry coupon at a participating Metro My Grocer store. Fill out the online
entry form with the alphanumeric code located on the back of the entry coupon along
with a UPC located on participating Leclerc products. There is a limited number

(25,000) of entry coupons with a unique alphanumeric code, therefore contest entry is
only possible while supplies last.
ii) No purchase necessary to enter or win, as stated in section 7 of these rules.
4. To enter the contest with your UPC, visit www.leclerc.ca and follow the instructions
on the screen. Entries cannot be made other than through the website. It should be
noted that only one new account per participant email address and street address can
be created. The term "participant", as defined in the Official Rules, means an
individual with one email address and one street address. It is therefore forbidden to
register using several email addresses or street addresses. Participants cannot enter
more than once (1) a day, and cannot enter more than once (1) with the same
alphanumeric code and the same UPC. To enter again, the participant must register a
new UPC and a new alphanumeric code. There is a total of seventy eight (78) Leclerc
product UPCs that can be used to enter the contest.
If this is your first visit
Opening an account
5. Click "Enter" on the contest homepage. You will then be directed to the page that
allows you to enter the contest using the UPC on a Leclerc participating product and
the alphanumeric code on the entry coupon from a participating Metro store. Fill out
the entry form by providing the mandatory information (last name, first name, email
address, age, password, gender, complete mailing address and telephone number).
Read and accept the Official Rules by clicking "I have read and understand the contest
rules" then click "Send in". If you do not agree to comply with the Official Rules, you
cannot enter online.
During subsequent visits
6. Go to www.leclerc.ca, select "Enter" and then click on “Already registered”. Enter
your email address and password, then click the "Login" button. You will then be

directed to the contest entry page where you can enter a new alphanumeric code and
new Leclerc product UPC. Starting with your second visit to the Contest site, each
additional code you enter will give you an additional chance to win one of the prizes.
Only one alphamuneric code and one UPC per day per valid account can be registered
and each separate valid entry must use a different alphanumeric code and UPC.
Entries for the various prizes are cumulative for the duration of the Contest. The entry
forms become property of Groupe Leclerc and will not be returned to contestants. The
odds of winning are directly linked to the number of valid entries received.
To be eligible, all online entries must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. (EST) on
June 19, 2013
7. No purchase required. You can enter the contest without purchase by hand writing a
letter of 50 words or more explaining why you would like to win one of the prizes. Be
sure to include your name, complete address and telephone number. Send your letter
by mail to: 91 de Rotterdam, Saint-Augustin de Desmaures, QC G3A 1T1 and specify
"Grande Soirée Magique" We will send you an alphanumeric code and a UPC from
one of the participating Leclerc products which will allow you to enter the contest.
(Please allow two (2) weeks to receive your UPC). For each additional eligible letter,
we will send you a UPC that will allow you to enter, giving you more chances to win a
prize. An participant who sends more than one letter during the Contest period must
submit a different letter each time (at least 25 different words). Each participant must
meet these conditions, otherwise, they will be automatically disqualified for the
duration of the contest. Once you receive your UPC, follow the instructions set out in
section 4 of the Official Rules. Leclerc Group is not responsible for postal delivery
delay and for UPC and alphanumeric codes received after the contest period is over.
PRIZES
8. The prizes consist of the following:
To be won:
One of four (4) VIP packages for two (2) people, including a front-row main stage pass
for the show of July 8, 2013, a gastronomic dinner at the Graffiti restaurant ($150 value),

a one-night stay at the Hilton Québec, $250 in cash, and one (1) $150 Metro My Grocer
gift card.
Plus, one chance of winning the $1500 Metro My Grocer gift card grand prize.
Prizes must be accepted as is and cannot be exchanged for money, cannot be sold or
transferred. No substitution is allowed.
DRAW
9. The draw will take place on June 21, 2013. Winners will be determined by a random draw
among all eligible entries received between May 23, 2013 and June 19, 2013. This draw will
determine the winners.
To be eligible for the draw, each entry submitted online must be received before 11:59 p.m.
(EST) on June 19, 2013, the last day of the Contest Period.
10. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest
Period.
11. PARTICIPANTS MUST KEEP EACH UPC REGISTERED IN THIS CONTEST, AS WELL AS
THE PRODUCT PACKAGING FOR LATER VALIDATION. AT ANY TIME, THE CONTEST
ORGANIZERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ASK THE PARTICIPANT SELECTED FOR A PRIZE
TO PROVIDE THE PACKAGING BEARING THE WINNING UPC OR THE PACKAGING FROM
WHICH WAS TAKEN THE UPC SENT BY MAIL BY THOSE WHO ENTERED WITHOUT
PURCHASE. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE
CONTEST.
PRIZE CLAIM
12. To be declared a winner, it is mandatory for the selected participants to comply with the
following:
i)
He or she must be reached by the Contest organizers within five (5) days of the
draw;
ii)
He or she must complete and return (by fax or registered mail, or as specified) the
declaration and liability waiver mentioned below within fifteen (15) days of
receipt, or within the period stipulated by the Contest Sponsor;
iii)
He or she must correctly answer, unaided and within a limited time, the skilltesting mathematical question which will appear on the declaration and liability
waiver specified in these Rules.

Failure to comply with any of the conditions mentioned above will automatically disqualify
the selected participant, who will forfeit any right to the Prizes, and the Contest Sponsor will
conduct a new random draw until a winner is determined. The selected particpant will be
contacted by telephone.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
13. Prizes will be delivered to the winners after contest organizers receive the duly completed
and signed declaration and liability waiver.
14. Entries are subject to verification by the Contest organizers. Any entries that are
incomplete, fraudulent, illegible, and non-compliant with the Official Rules or received after
the Contest Period will be automatically rejected. The organizers’ decision to this effect is
final and without appeal. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be
returned.
15. Prizes must be accepted as described in these Official Rules. The Sponsor reserves the
right to substitute a prize with another of equal or greater value if the prize cannot be awarded
as described.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
16. By entering this Contest, participants consent to the collection, use and disclosure of their
personal information by the Sponsor and/or authorized agents for the purposes of
administering the Contest and awarding the prize. By accepting the prize, winners consent to
the use and disclosure to the public of their names, addresses (city, province), voices,
statements and photographs or other likenesses for publicity purposes in connection with the
Contest in any media or formats, including but not limited to the Internet, without notice,
permission or compensation. Except as otherwise set out in these Official Rules, no
communication, commercial or otherwise, that is not related to this contest, will be sent to
participants by the Sponsor, except if the participant has otherwise authorised the Sponsor, or
its affiliated companies, when appropriate to do so. Personal information will not otherwise be
used or disclosed without consent.

RELEASES
17. The selected participant releases the Sponsor, as well as its affiliates, advertising and
promotional agencies, partners, employees, agents and representatives from all responsibility
for any damage that could result from the acceptance, and/or use (or non-acceptance or nonuse) of his or her prize. In order to be declared a winner, and prior to receiving his or her
prize, the selected participant agrees to sign a standard declaration and release form to this
effect.
18. The Contest organizers and Sponsor are released from all responsibility related to the
malfunctioning of any software components, software, lines of communication related to the
loss or absence of the communication network, or related to any failed, misdirected,
incomplete, illegible, or erased transmission by any computer, fax or network, and which
could limit or prevent the possibility of any person from entering the Contest. The Contest
organizers and Sponsor are released from all responsibility for any damage or loss whatsoever
that could be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by downloading any software
and by the transmission of any information required for entry in the Contest.
OTHER CONDITIONS
19. For the purposes of these Official Rules, the participant is the person whose name is
registered as a participant on the Contest site. It is this person who will be asked the
mathematical skill-testing question and to whom the prize will be awarded if they are declared
the winner.
20. No correspondence will be entered into except with potential winners. This Contest is
subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws.
21. The Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to exclude from this Contest and any
future Contest or promotion held by the Sponsor, any person convicted or suspected of having
tampered with the processing of ballots or running of the Contest or the Contest website,

violating the Official Rules or acting unfairly or destructively, or with the intent to harass,
torment, threaten or harass another person.
WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY A PARTICIPANT OR OTHER PERSON TO
DELIBERATELY DAMAGE A WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE
OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL
LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES
THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE
FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. THIS PERSON WILL BE
DISQUALIFIED FROM THIS CONTEST AND ANY FUTURE CONTESTS.
RIGHT TO TERMINATE
22. The Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, extend or
suspend this Contest, in whole or in part, in the event of a virus, software bug, unauthorized
human intervention or any other cause beyond the control of the Sponsor, which could corrupt
or affect the administration, security, impartiality or normal running of this Contest, with the
consent of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec ("Régie").
23. Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be
submitted to the Régie for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be
submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
24. In case of discrepancy between the English and French versions of these Rules, the French
version prevails.
