Graduate Placement Training Programme Over the last 2 years Engineers Ireland has developed and managed a number of Graduate Placement Training Programmes for major engineering employers and to date we have worked successfully with various organisations including the Office of Public Works and Irish Rail in managing their recruitment and HR needs. The programme offers career development for young engineers to gain experience in an engineering environment and for the host organisation to benefit from their skills and enthusiasm. The significant advantage of these programmes to organisations is that Engineers Ireland remains the employer throughout the period of the engineering graduate’s placement. 2.1 The Programme Structure In partnership with your organisation Engineers Ireland will carry out the following human resource and recruitment functions: Engineers Ireland will be the employer of the graduates for the entire duration of the placement and we will also carry out the project, financial, and administrative management of the programme including the following specific roles: Promotion and marketing of the graduate placement programme and positions. CV harvesting, screening and short listing of candidates for interviews. If required, we can manage and host the interviews at Engineers Ireland HQ. Development of interview questions, matrices and assessments. Letters of appointment and employment contracts. Revenue & payroll management. 2.2 Cost The cost of the programme is primarily based upon the following: Salary levels of the graduate placements, plus employers PRSI The number of graduates on placement The length of the programme Engineers Ireland’s management & overhead fees. 2.3 Salary The salary level is determined by your organisation, however as a guide, graduates have been recently placed on salaries in the range of €27k – €34k per annum. We would recommend that in order to make the programme attractive to the best candidates, that a salary close to €30k per annum should be strongly considered. 2.4 Duration In general, our programmes can run up to 4 years and we can work with your organisation to determine a suitable placement period to meet your specific needs. 2.5 Partnership Although formal written agreement will exist between Engineers Ireland and your organisation, we have drafted the contract based on partnership principals.
