Karon started her journey in the arts while studying
Commercial Art at McMaster University in Hamilton. An
experienced potter for over thirty years, Karon has only
recently picked this back up as a preferred medium,
producing high fire stoneware and porcelain with
some carving. Karon has lived in Kincardine for thirty
years, and you can find her pottery work at Victoria
Park Gallery, where she is a member, as well as at the
Monday Market in the Park event held every summer
in Kincardine.

Pat has been interested in the arts since childhood, but
a busy career in education precluded studies in this
area until her retirement. Having lived in Kincardine
since the 70s, Pat believes the beauty of Bruce County,
particularly Lake Huron, nourished her soul until she was
ready to explore her favourite medium of watercolour.
As well as using local areas for painting inspiration, Pat
loves to travel and photograph settings that speak to
her artistic nature. Many of her photographs are used
as references for her paintings.
Studio and home open to public, with artwork
throughout.

Nancy is a protagonist, optimist and a one-time fire
walker with a single-minded focus: to make the world
a more beautiful place. She is the author of two books,
spiritual and relationship mentor, visionary, Ayurveda
culinary arts teacher, and stress reliever with a creative
twist. Yet, her clients just call her the artist who lives in
the house with the crooked fence.
Hayley is a talented 21 year old, who was covered in
paint since before she could walk. Both her parents
are artists and always encouraged her to try something
new. Hayley’s art has matured along with her over
the years and her work is now focused on women’s
issues and personal expression. Hayley describes her
art as “flinging my emotions on the canvas and hoping
something turns out.”

The Philosopher’s Wool Company, which supports
sustainable agriculture and fair trade, produces natural
and organic yarn. The company produces and dyes
its own wool yarn, as well as knitting kits for Fair Isle
sweaters, shawls and cardigans. The store is located
in an 1851 log cabin on the property, and the owners
provide visitors informative tours of the farm facilities.

Artistic endeavours take Mary to another place and help
her to escape her daily routine. Landscapes, animals and
flowers are preferred subjects. Nature is always evident
in her work and reflects her love for gardening and
animals. Mary moved to Kincardine and settled into her
arts and crafts heritage home (circa 1910) to be close to
her daughter. Mary’s home is the backdrop to her work
including watercolours, pen and ink, decorative gourds,
sculpture, patio stones and quilting. Mary’s gardens
have received honourable mention in the Communities
in Bloom garden tour.

Inverhuron Provincial Park is well known for white
sand beaches, great camping facilities, and of course
amazing Lake Huron sunsets. Hidden along the
winding road that leads into the Park is a spectacular
gem of local history. The Inverhuron Pioneer Cemetery
is a step back in time. As you wander through
overgrown trees and hilly earth, a scattering of
headstones tell tales of remembered loved ones. A
serene, peaceful setting, will have you kneeling to
try and decipher carvings from a century past. For
those who wish to make a stone rubbing keepsake,
our volunteers will be on site with paper, chalk and
information on how to get the best result.
Continue strolling down the winding road that leads
to the Gate House, where you can also explore the
displays of archaeological artifacts, collected by Park’s
staff over the years.
**We do suggest appropriate footwear, as the walk
from the Cemetery to the Gate House is approximately
5 minutes.
**Day Use Fees are in effect if you would like to stay
and explore the Park and their facilities.
