We Wish You a Merry Christmas And a Happy New Year! Here are some pictures from our fabulous Luncheon Christmas Concert! It was such a memorable event. Around 150 people had lunch with their families and over 200 came to watch the awesome performances. We are so very proud of the students this year who all worked very hard to make this concert a huge SUCCESS!! Thanks to Santa, Neudorf Lions Club , the SCC and all who were involved to make this a meaningful and wonderful memory for us all! All at NVE wish you a wonderful Holiday Season and wish to thank you for your support to our students and staff this year! See you in 2016! From the Corner Office Riding the Bus It is important for all students to be transported safely to and from school each and everyday. The bus driver is responsible to do this but with the help of students (the riders) and the parents. Each student is required to be dressed appropriately for the day. Now that winter is upon us, students need boots, toque, mitts, jackets and ski pants. The bus driver can deny a student access to the bus if they are not properly dressed to ride the bus. Students must also behave and be respectful on the bus. Generally students are well behaved on the bus. Typically issues occur on the bus ride to and from Lemberg to Neudorf. We have had issues with students moving around on the bus, standing up on the bus, being excessively loud, disrespectful of their peers and/or of the bus driver. Riding the bus to school is a privilege. We have only one shuttle going to and from Lemberg and Neudorf. Students not complying with the rules and regulations of the bus may have their privilege of riding the bus suspended. Please talk to your child about their behavior on the bus to ensure that they are following the rules and regulations of the bus. Principal’s Christmas Message This time of year is one which stirs up a variety of emotions, attitudes and feelings. It is a busy time of year to say the least. We are all preparing for trips, visits with family and friends, wrapping presents, baking, attending Christmas parties…. We pack and cram as much as we can into a few days over the “Holidays”. We are often left feeling overwhelmed, like we did not get enough accomplished and we tend to be a bit on the grouchy side at times. To be honest, this time of year seems to be anything but a holiday. Many of us actually need time to refresh, recharge and refocus. However, for many, that time usually occurs after the New Year. I hope you are able to try to take some time to relax, reduce your level of stress and try to focus on what is important. Many of us have a variety of firsts to go through this Christmas season-the first with a new child, the first with a new partner, the first in a new community, the first with a new job, the first without a loved one. These firsts can be either exciting, filled with anxiety, depressing and sad for some. We need to remember that our loved ones at hand need us and the spirituality of the holiday season should be at the forefront of our mind. So no matter how you say it -Frohe Weihnachten, German, Joyeux Noël, French ,Mele Kalikimaka-Hawaiian, miyo-manitowi-kîsikanisi!-Cree or Happy Festivus-Seinfeld, please take time to relax, enjoy time with your loved ones and embrace the spirit of the holiday season. One behalf of the staff of NVE, my family and myself have a Merry Christmas and All the best in 2016.
