2.6 Project Description
Currently, the country is importing most of the
vaccines needed for animal disease control. The
imports are usually unreliable and fail to meet the
required demand. Small-scale vaccine production
is being done at the Central Veterinary Research
Institute (CVRI) in Lusaka.
2.7 Market Analysis
Zambia's livestock population is on the increase.
The biggest threat to the livestock sector is
animal disease outbreaks. Having an established
supply of vaccines can only contain this. The
vaccines to be produced will be used locally and
the surplus could be exported to neighbouring
countries.

Raw materials in the manufacturing of vaccines
will need to be imported

Zambia's population is on the increase.
Protein consumption from fish products is
on the decline. This is due to a decline in
fish catches from most of our lakes and
rivers. Fish farming is the only way of filling
up this gap.
3.7 Market Analysis
Currently, Zambia is a net importer of fish
and fish products. A lot of farmers are
developing interest in fish farming.
3.8 Availability of Inputs
Zambia is rich in terms of water resource.
This water can be utilized in fish farming
