Introduction
The DIRECTV MFH2™ System is a single-wire solution for distributing all DIRECTV Ku/Ka satellite bands from each orbital
satellite slot into a Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) via a single homerun wire. This technology enables a customer to receive
all of DIRECTV’s programming and services on multiple receivers inside a customer’s premise.
MFH2™ Components FMC-6 Chassis and SWM-8 module
The main technology element for MFH2™ is the eight (8) channel Single Wire Multi-switch module (SWM-8) and the six slot
FMC-6 chassis shown above. The eight channel SWM is designed to provide DIRECTV programming from all current and
future Ku/Ka satellites via a single home run wire to a set of multiple receivers connected using one or more passive
splitters inside the customer premise. The SWM-8 allocates up to eight channels for viewer selected programming for
MFH2™ compatible receivers. The FMC-6 is a six (6) slot chassis designed to house up to six (6) SWM-8 modules.

Single Wire Multi Switch (8 Channel)
Features:
• Provides eight independent channels for supporting up to 8 DIRECTV satellite tuners.
• Provides two outputs to serve two customer dwellings (typical).
• Contains a built-in diplexer for combining off-air signals with DIRECTV satellite signals
onto a single home run wire to the dwelling
• Provides AGC for the satellite input signal.
• Die-cast housing is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
• Supports six LNB inputs, each triple band stacked four ports (1-4) cover existing
99°/101°, 103°/110°/119° satellites, plus two flex ports (95° and 72.5°)

The SWM-8 is an eight channel single wire multi switch that allows any transponder from any satellite input to
be independently selected and distributed via one of eight designated SWM output frequency channels.
