Bulls for Kids Student Board

Board Description: Formerly known as Dance Marathon, the Bulls for Kids Student board provides a
unique leadership opportunity for USF students committed to continuing the culture of dance marathon on
our campus. Compiled of three student-led teams, this Board is responsible for seeing that the year-long
culture of dance marathon is infused into USF tradition. The Bulls for Kids Student board offers board and
committee member’s leadership experiences through responsibilities that include managing event
logistics, building relationships with All Children’s Hospital, campus outreach, and fundraising.
Finance Team
I. External Fundraising Committee
The External Fundraising Committee will reach out to the Tampa Bay community in an attempt to create
relationships with sponsors. This committee is great for people looking to grow their skills in public
speaking, planning, and analytical thinking. These skills are particularly useful to business, mass
communications and administrative majors.
Responsibilities:




Assist with the contacting and securement of off-campus sponsorships and donations
Network with businesses in the Tampa Bay to strengthen relationships with BFK
Communicate BFK’s purpose and mission in an effective and professional manner
Attend weekly committee meetings
II. Internal Fundraising Committee
The role of the Internal Fundraising Committee is to get USF involved in fundraising for the kids oncampus. If you want to develop good communication skills, learn about fundraising, or gain some
leadership experience, all while making a difference for All Children's Hospital, this would be a great
opportunity to do so!
Responsibilities:




Assist with the contacting and securement of on-campus sponsorships and donations
Ensure students with opportunities to fundraise for the hospital on-campus
Communicate BFK’s purpose and mission in an effective and professional manner
Attend weekly committee meetings
III. Mini Dance Marathons CommitteeMini Dance Marathon is in charge of motivating and inspiring the middle and high school students in
Tampa Bay community to have their own Dance Marathons. They would serve as advisers and mentors
to the students during their journey of planning a successful DM.
Responsibilities

Assist with the planning and development of Mini Dance Marathons at local high schools and
middle schools

Serve as mentors to students to plan successful DMs
Attend weekly committee meetings
IV. Treasurer Committee
The Treasurer committee is in charge of the money in BFK. Any donations or funds given to BFK have to
be properly accounted for and has to be inputted in our online system, Donor Drive.
Responsibilities:




Learn about the online system, Donor Drive
Accurately track all donations, sponsorships, and funds that are given to Bulls For Kids
Provide a monthly record of Bulls For Kids financial activity
Attend weekly committee meetings
Communications Team
I. Dancer Relations Committee
The Dancer Relation committee is about maintaining a meaningful relationship with registered dancers by
holding socials, color team meetings, and providing a welcoming environment for all dancers.
Responsibilities
 Communicate information to participants effectively, accurately, and quickly
 Plan networking and fundraising opportunities for registered participants
 In charge of the spirit points and will work with a specific color team
 Attend bi-weekly committee meetings
II. Recruitment Committee
The Recruitment committee is there to share the BFK mission and purpose with student orgs, groups,
clubs, and communities. They also educate the student about Bull For Kids.
Responsibilities
 Share BFK’s mission and purpose with student organizations, groups, clubs, and communities
concisely and professionally
 Educate prospective participants about the importance of registering and creating teams
 Attend weekly committee meetings
III. Creative Committee
The creative committee is for students who like to use their creativity and bring it life. Members will be
creating flyers, posters, marketing and promotional materials, as well as working on videos.
Responsibilities:
 Creation of all promotional items- flyers, posters, videos
 Committee in charge with the branding of Bulls For Kids as an organization
 Attend weekly committee meetings
IV. Promotions Committee
This committee is in charge of promoting the Bulls For Kids purpose and mission to the USF community.
We will push BFK as an organization and all of our events to USF in order to make them as successful as
possible.
Responsibilities:
 Promote Bulls For Kids as an organization and any events that occur
 Attend Bull Market to reach out to the student body
 Flyering and chalking around campus
 Contacting organizations about BFK, press releases, and marketing
 Attend weekly committee meetings
Event Team
I. Marathon Committee
Marathon is a part of the event team that focuses on the big Bulls for Kids celebration on March 21, 2015.
We will be planning the look and feel, performances and overall logistics of the event!
Responsibilities:
 Planning the Marathon
 Securing performances, games, activities, decorations, and food for the day of event
 Planning a event matrix and overall logistics for the Marathon
 Attend a weekly committee meeting
II. Special Events Committee
Special Events Committee is looking for students who are interested in spreading awareness of Bulls For
Kids through fun and innovative events. As a committee member, you will be responsible for planning
one small event (e.g. bake sale).
Responsibilities:
 Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising events
 Spread awareness of the BFK mission through small scale events for the USF campus
 Create events that promote the BFK mission
 Attend weekly committee meetings
III. Family Relations Committee
The Family Relations committee works closely with the All Children's Hospital. This committee gets to
work with the cause first hand and helps make the family's lives as normal as possible.
Responsibilities:
 Assist with the planning of family events and the building of relationships with the families of All
Children’s Hospital
 Plan events and programs that help the kids of the hospital
 Grow the relationship between USF Bulls For Kids and All Children’s Hospital
 Attend weekly committee meetings
IV. Morale Committee
Morale is the face of BFK and our purpose is to keep participants excited about the cause and maintain
high morale throughout the year and the Marathon. This includes making, teaching, and performing
morale dances throughout the event. We are looking for people who are highly committed to the cause
and excited about helping the All Children's Hospital.
Responsibilities:
 Face of Bulls For Kids
 Keeps students excited and motivated throughout the year about the BFK mission
 Learn the different morale dances and participate in BFK events
 Attend weekly committee meetings
